We had the good fortune of connecting with Christina Ledezma and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christina, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I am a SoCal native and have lived here my whole life! I was born and raised in Los Angeles County, so for me, it’s home. My parents migrated from Mexico to the U.S. when they were young, making me a first-generation American. As a Mexican American, my background has played a huge part in my career. For example, California has a huge social media/influencer presence compared to ANY other state. I have been super fortunate because I’ve gotten a lot of amazing opportunities compared to other creators who live in different states. So when I decided to pursue social media, it was easier knowing I lived in Los Angeles because I had so many resources to help me grow! Lastly, growing up in a Mexican household, I was raised with the mentality that if I want something, I need to work hard to get it. Also, I wanted to see more representation in the beauty community with more Latinx creators, so I knew that this was a role I wanted to take on.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As a beauty influencer, my art is makeup. I love beauty and having the opportunity to play with such fun products. I’ve been doing social media since December 2020, so I’m coming up to four years now. It’s been a huge rollercoaster ride, but I am glad to be where I am today. The top three accomplishments I am most proud of are pr, events, and my paid partnerships.

When I started social media, I didn’t get any pr packages, but now I receive about 20 packages a month (which I still can’t believe). I’ve had the opportunity to receive free products from big brands like Colourpop Cosmetics, One Size Beauty, Milk Makeup, Milani Cosmetics, etc. I swear it feels like Christmas every month! Next are the events, which are so fun! I’ve always wanted to attend influencer events, and now I do! Usually, these events are huge parties that brands put together where they have food, an open bar, a DJ, more free products, and fun activations! In these events, you also meet the people behind the brand and other creators in the same field as you. Sometimes, these events aren’t lavish parties but other cool activities like workout classes, concerts, movie screenings, etc. I am lucky to live in Los Angeles because I get to attend these fun events because of where I live. And lastly, my biggest accomplishment is getting paid. All creators can create content, but not all can earn money from social media. I am proud to say that I am one of those creators, and I still can’t wrap my head around the fact that brands pay me to make videos. I had a goal set for 2024 on how much I wanted to make, and I’ve already doubled that! I feel so special that big beauty brands see something in me and my content that makes them want to work with me. I wouldn’t be where I am without them, but most importantly, I wouldn’t be here without all my followers! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making my dreams come true!

And take this as a sign, never give up!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m a natural tourist by heart (even in my city), so I’d take them to the most popular places in SoCal. My favorite nature spots with a scenic view of the city are the Griffith Observatory, Vista Hermosa Park, and Barnsdall Art Park. For food, I have a LOT of recommendations, starting with Catch LA, Met Him At A Bar, The Highlight Room, and Ill Cielo. LA has some of the country’s best restaurants, so there is plenty to choose from. Lastly entertainment! We, of course, have to check out a Dodger game, visit some museums (my favorite are the Broad, LACMA, & Academy Museum of Motion Pictures), shop at the Grove, and go to the beach!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Wow, this is tough because there are so many people who’ve played a big role in where I’m at today. It’s hard to choose. As a Latina, family is a big part of my life, so I want to dedicate this to them. My parents, siblings, cousins, and aunts/uncles have been my biggest supporters! Another person is my boyfriend. He’s my biggest fan and always pushes me even when I doubt myself. He’s always supported my social media career (even when I’m doing a crazy makeup look where I have blue eyeshadow and a million gems glued to my face, he always tells me that I look beautiful). However, I do want to give a special shoutout to my grandmother. Unfortunately, she passed in December 2023, which was the hardest loss I’ve ever dealt with. She cared for me as a child and is the most down-to-earth woman I will ever meet. My grandmother always supported my dreams and would tell me how proud she was. And there would never go a day where she wouldn’t wear red lipstick, talk about iconic! Also, a mini shoutout to my seven-year-old niece Lauren, who watches my videos ALL the time! She loves makeup and making videos like her auntie, so watch out, world, because she will be the next big influencer!
