We had the good fortune of connecting with Christine Lozano and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christine, what are you inspired by?
Music. Music plays an important part of my life. I take photographs with a soundtrack in mind, I write with a soundtrack in mind, I love to dance. It’s always about music. And it’s not a specific type of music..I love all types. Except boy bands…I’m easy on boy bands BUT other than that I love all kinds of music. 🙂

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m very proud of my photographs. I was the in-house photographer for the Viper Room from 1995-2004. And it was because of that, that I started taking photos. I’m self taught and self taught on film no less so very proud of that. I just had my first gallery show in Hollywood last year, Viper Room 1995-2004 The Photographs, and will be having another show in Texas August 2-18. I want to take this to Mexico and Europe. It’s a great way to showcase what the club was about during that time, and also it’s about a time in music history that will never be repeated and if you weren’t able to be a part of it then, bringing the show to you makes you a part of it now.

 

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well you have to hit the beach, if your in need of a photo lab the the Icon is the best. Walk up to the Hollywood sign, not only will you lose weight but you’ll get an amazing view! For the BEST lobster roll you have to go to Nicolas Eatery. They are in the Beverly Center now. Nicolas is an amazing chef! Looking for a great deli? Handys Market on Magnolia has the biggest sandwiches EVA and they’re soooo good. As far as having a cocktail any one of my friends will attest I love to throw parties. There is nothing NOTHING like having ten people in your kitchen all having different conversations and introducing your peeps to your other peeps. I prefer home parties to a bar any day. I’m still on the search for a good massage but if you need cupping or acupuncture Michael Farrell has an amazing touch.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Oh man…okay well music wise there is a great band in LA called the LetterOpeners… just great music and you need to check them out live. I have amazing friends that hustle and live for their art every day. Alan Marco I’m talking about you. This guy is so dedicated to his art and his girlfriend I swear he was born in the wrong era! He is an amazing actor and an amazing singer songwriter. Go Alan! And then there’s Bren Holmes. I just directed a music video for his song Pieces that we are releasing on June 1st. He is an amazing singer as well.
