We had the good fortune of connecting with CHRISTOPHER HEARN and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi CHRISTOPHER, what’s one piece of conventional advice that you disagree with?
The concept of only having one chance to make something happen. Especially in the creative space, there’s a major conception that “you only get one shot”. When it comes to partnerships, projects, exposure, opportunities, etc… We’re made to feel like we have to jump on whatever we’re offered because a chance like that won’t come around again. I’ve learned that to be wrong, and ultimately dangerous. If something is meant for you it will continuously seek you. And if someone has your best interest at heart, they won’t use pressure or scarcity to convince you to take action. Be patient and be diligent. The right time for something is when it feels right for you.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m thankful. I started freestyling when I was 3 or 4 years old. My uncle brand was a teenager at the time and he was learning to make beats. Whenever I saw him, he would play a new beat he had made and tell me to rap over it. I learned rap as I was learning to speak. Over the years music has taken me places I couldn’t have gone without it and helped me build amazing relationships. Prior to last year, I had taken a lang break from writing and recording music. I felt pressure, I saw the industry up close, and I felt skeptical about the impact I could have. Now I feel excited to keep creating because I’m not trying to convince anyone, or myself. The music sounds better, it’s connecting with people more, and I’m enjoying the challenge. I hope my music is encouraging to people who hear it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
In LA? I’d definitely say the taco stand in front of pavilions on melrose and vine. And t hang out we would spend our time in Leimert park and Inglewood. Hot and Cool Cafe, or Sip and Sonder for a good game night. At least one day spent at Hermosa beach is needed,

In Columbus? We would spend a nice amount of time in the short north, Old town east, and german village. Some of my favorite food spots here are Club 185 or Goody Boy for a good late meal. I always bring my friends from out of town to shop at Sole classics. Budd Dairy rooftop for a smooth night out

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
