We had the good fortune of connecting with Chucks City and Rlynex Vibes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chucks and Rlynex, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Consistency, Passion, and devotion played an important role. However, our trust in God is at the core of every milestone.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
It is often said that music is a universal language and it is our ability to create songs that effortlessly get people dancing that truly sets us apart. We take great pride in the structure of our vocals and flow, carefully crafting each beat and rhythm to create a dancable vibe. But it’s not just the music that makes us unique, it’s the deeply inspired lyrics that stem from our real life experiences. From the highs to the lows, our songs reflect all aspects of our lives. We also bring a touch of spirituality to our music, as we honor God through our lyrics. It’s this combination of elements that truly makes our music stand out. We have always stayed true to ourselves and our art, never compromising our originality. Nevertheless, our journey has been an organic process, with each step and level contributing to the growth and evolution of our music. We may have stumbled and fallen at times, but we’ve always picked ourselves back up and continued on, making the journey all the more fulfilling.
Talent, authenticity, and integrity defines Afro City music.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Our favorite spot is our creative space. So you are most likely to find us in our studio in Surrey, BC. But also, we enjoy the outdoors, so you could find us at the english bay beach.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Our dedication goes to our upbringings, thanks to parents who are musically inclined and thus impacted our early beginning in music. We also give shout out to our partners and promoters who patronized us since our official debute as professional musicians. People such as Ezeadi Onukwulu of Ahfomad, in Vancouver ,British Columbia. We recognize Yasin M Kiraga of the African Descent Society, amongst others. We also, give a shout out to the organisers of the Afro-Carribbean Summer Fest of Surrey, British Columbia where we performed last year.
Our dear friends DJ Hoppa, our amazing photographer Johnny Phillips and last but not the least, our partners at Pulp Publicity.
