We had the good fortune of connecting with Cierra Lynn and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cierra, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I believe that the most important factor behind my success is my work ethic. Actually putting in years of perfecting my gift, staying consistent and always staying authentic has played a significant role in my success.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have evolved into an Empowerment Artist with purpose in the paint. I like to refer myself as an Empowerment Artist because all of my creations infuse affirmations and bold imagery that boost self esteem, self expression and embrace individuality.

I dont have the typical entreprenuership story, and thats what I love most about my journey. My LLC was birthed from hardship. After being laid off as an art teacher, and after multiple failed job interviews, I took my destiny into my own hands. I created wearble art and accessories as a way to make ends meet and take care of my daughter. With months of being consistent and sharing my artwork , business grew and 11 years later I am a thriving entreprenuer.

Throughout my art career I have overcame many obstacles and learned valuable lessons. One of the biggest lessons Ive learned in business is authenticity. There is someone who needs exactly what you have. All of my biggest opportunities came from me showing up the way I am with my own style and twist. Another lesson I’ve learned is to practice self care. Running a business while being a parent and juggling life along with what comes unexpected and suddenly is hard. Intentionally carving out time for self is so important.

When people see my brand being recognized nationally, I want them to know that the desires of your heart can come true. When you put your mind and heart into anything, you can achive it.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
As a proud Washington DC Native, I would love for them to experience DC culture. I would add sightseeing at DC museums. I would add a playlist that consisted of go-go music. I would love them to taste mumbo sauce, a DC staple sauce.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
If I could shout out one person, it would definitely be my mother. Growing up, I had an amazing example of what it meant to stay true to who you are. Although she has passed, what she exuded was planted in me and I honor that standard with myself and through my creations.
