We had the good fortune of connecting with Clayton Meek and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Clayton, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Growing up in Brazil, I always thought I was different from the other kids, not better but different. Besides the passion for Art I always had this feeling, responsibility to leave a mark on this earth. And be an example to other kids. I remember growing up, looking the Nextdoor building thru my bedroom window, you could see other people’s tv flashing.
I always wanted to give comfort to people, from the hospitals to the nursing homes . Be the scape and entertain those people.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Being an actor and entertainer is always a very exiting journey. My passion for drama start really small. I remember asking my mother how people were able to get into the television? And as a joke she said they have special powers. So I wanted to have that “special power”.
But not until I watched my first movie, ET from the genius Steven Spielberg
I want to be involved in everything creative at school. I spent so much time at the theater in school was amazing.
Later on I remember doing modeling, and finishing my acting classes. Afterwards I was invited to work for MGM Chanel in Brazil . After that I moved to USA. Just decided to give up acting career and have a regular life.
The universe was pushing me towards entertainment and I was fighting against. Until I moved to California and the pandemic hit. I was invited to act in an American movie in my country. Marlin Farah invited to act as Silva in his movie “Amazon Queen”.
Was a great experience and opportunity. I decided to take a chance and doors start opening for me.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
LA has the most beautiful diversity of places and restaurants to go. I’ve been living here for 6 years now and I still discovering new places to go.
Besides the great weather.
I love going to places that was a movie set or visited by big stars. I love Formosa Cafe, give me Marlin Monroe favorite booth please.
Or Canters Deli and see where Guns n Roses started.
I also love Pink’s Hot Dogs, I will have my picture there one day.
One of my favorite places to go is the Greystone Masion. Have great views and beautiful gardens for photos. After that we could go to The Ivy restaurant also iconic place and don’t forget Musso & Frank Grill.
Of course the walk of the fame, Hollywood sign, those are a must. But there is an exotic place I like to go, Hollywood forever cemetery, sounds creepy but it’s not, it don’t even look like a cemetery is more like a park. That place is quiet and always help me remember where everything will end one day.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There so many people that come in my mind right now. Shoutout to my family special my mother who never stop praying for me. My friends to the ones who stayed, and to those that follow my carrier. .
