We had the good fortune of connecting with Cole Mitchell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cole, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind our success is our unwavering mission and the strong sense of community we’ve built around it. As more Heroes hear about our mission and as our community grows, our business continues to expand. People naturally want to give back to those who help us most, a sentiment that was especially evident during the 2020 pandemic when the vital contributions of these careers were highlighted. Another massive factor in our success is the hard work and dedication of our incredible team. They continuously pour their energy into Hero initiatives and community partnerships that directly benefit our Hero community. This combination of mission-driven purpose and team dedication has been the driving force behind our growth and success.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Before diving into real estate, my professional career was deeply rooted in healthcare. As a registered nurse for nearly a decade, I worked in emergency care, special procedures, and held certifications in advanced resuscitation for both children and adults. Nursing was more than just a job; it was my life and the foundation of my commitment to helping others. The transition to real estate was driven by a desire to extend that same level of care and advocacy to a new field, leading to the creation of a brand centered around serving Heroes—everyday people who dedicate their lives to helping others. Our story is one of passion, community, and resilience. We want the world to know that our brand is not just about buying and selling homes; it’s about giving back to those who have given so much. Through our Hero-focused initiatives, we strive to make a meaningful impact, ensuring that those who serve are supported and celebrated every step of the way.

The road to building our brand was anything but easy. Along the way, we faced significant challenges, from navigating the complexities of a real estate market rocked by inflation and political uncertainty to overcoming the hurdles brought on by a global pandemic. The real estate industry has seen some of its toughest years, with transaction volumes plummeting and affordability becoming a growing concern. These obstacles tested our resilience and forced us to innovate, finding new ways to reach and serve our Hero community amidst the noise. The biggest take-home lesson from our journey is that perseverance and adaptability are crucial. When faced with adversity, we learned to stay true to our mission, leveraging the strength of our community and the dedication of our team to overcome challenges. This journey has taught us that success is not just about achieving goals but about the willingness to continuously evolve, grow, and remain committed to the values that drive us.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If a friend were visiting LA, I’d start by taking them to Pollo Sherman in Van Nuys for the best Peruvian chicken they’ve ever tasted. Of course, no visit would be complete without a stop at Porto’s and a tour of some of my favorite restaurants. We might spend a day at Magic Mountain for some adrenaline-pumping fun, catch an evening show, or stroll along the Santa Monica boardwalk to enjoy the street performances. After soaking in the touristy sights, we’d dive into the local food scene, discovering hidden gems that make LA so special. There’s just so much to do, it’s hard to name it all!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We want to give a huge shoutout to everyone who has helped us get to where we are today. The list is too big to name everyone individually, but we are incredibly grateful to our partners and colleagues, especially Sunny Narang, Jose Tejada, and Angie King. A heartfelt thank you to our community partners and nursing colleagues who continue to root for us, and to the California National Guard and all the brave men and women who trust us to represent them at the highest level. To our family and friends, thank you for your unwavering support, for telling our story, and for continuing to cheer us on. Your belief in us fuels our mission every day.
