We had the good fortune of connecting with Connie and Jakki and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Connie and Jakki, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
Our work life balance has changed extremely over time. In the beginning, we would hustle everyday, 12-15 hour work days. We’d say yes to every opportunity. We’d have a pop up most weekends, mixed in with trade shows and production in between. However, nowadays, we’ve learned to balance our life and our priorities. You’ll never have enough time or enough money, because when you have more money, you’ll spend more money. So when we started missing our kids’ events or birthday parties for a pop up event, we had to ask ourselves: is it worth it to you?

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Wee Monster is a worldwide brand with showrooms in LA, NYC, London and Milan. We’re in trade shows nationally and internationally during fashion weeks. It was just supposed to start as an Etsy and mama shop. But we’ve found customers who supported our brand from all over. They are the ones who made it what it is today. It’s so funny, because we’ve found that our customers are so similar to us, our mindsets and their humor. We’re most proud that everything we’ve done is organic. All our connections. Our successes. We’ve been very lucky to have people reach out to us all along the way.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
-Our Mom: When no one believed in us, she told us we could do it. She celebrated all our wins–big or small.

-Our Husbands: Our drivers, our movers, main supporters and everything else in between. When your wife starts a small business, and now you’re an employee for a job you never applied for. It doesn’t pay and you can never quit.

-Kids: Our inspiration. Our free models that signed up for the job without knowing it.

-Friends and Family: To everyone who showed up to all our pop up events, trade shows and all the adventures in between, it means the world.
