Meet Corey Spiegel: Founder of Light House – a network of whip-smart women learning and transforming together with the guidance of trusted experts.

Hi Corey, how do you think about risk?
Taking a risk requires a great deal of thought and courage to face the fear of the unknown. I was looking to grow professionally and debated all of the avenues that were available to me to help me achieve both resiliency and my future goals. Ultimately, I decided on one seemingly simple yet scary choice to start my own business. I was tired of working for other people and bringing to light their visions for their companies. I wanted that for myself. I wanted to bank on my own efforts and talent making decisions I knew would be best for my company. I thought about what it would be like if I didn’t take the risk and that notion was far worse to me. I knew I would regret the missed opportunity. Don’t get me wrong, there was a lot of fear involved – fear of failure, fear of change and the uncertainty of it all without a safety net beneath me. But actually, fear isn’t so bad and neither is taking a risk. In fact, risk is the very thing that can make you feel alive, stand taller, be prouder and speak up for consciously going outside your comfort zone.   

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Light House is a community of smart women who are learning and transforming together with the guidance of trusted experts. We are a place where women find clarity and perspective to live purposeful lives. Our curated classes and events help you navigate the life stage you’re in, and connect you with other women who are facing similar challenges. We’re having real conversations on real topics with real people about real life. As you engage, you become the best version of yourself. Our topics are always evolving and are carefully created to tap into real life-cycles. Each session allows for an interactive and vibrant opportunity to share tangible life lessons. You can feel the support and validation around you in a confidential, judgement-free environment. It’s an incredible honor to listen to other women and receive their wisdom and guidance on what they learned, what worked and what didn’t. When you surround yourself with others navigating similar twists and turns in life, you leave feeling supported, heard, and wisely advised, knowing you had unbiased listeners. Participants gain confidence in themselves, they enjoy the camaraderie and learn to live life with intention. No topic is off the table: what’s it’s really like to be a entrepreneur, navigating complex relationships, life and legacy planning, caring for your aging parents, and more. This is not a lecture series. It’s a healthy dialogue about life experiences – the good, the bad and everything in between.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite destinations are sadly all closed due to Covid. I’ve instead learned to appreciate being at home or at a friends house outside where we can drink wine and get lost in deep, meaningful conversation. I find anyone who can be raw, honest, and truly authentic fascinating. I would want my best friend to meet these people!  

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Light House cultivates a community of unbiased women who offer each other insight, clarity, and wisdom. In the process, our participants forge lasting bonds with each other as they share their unique stories. Our highly interactive classes, many led by specialized experts, provide space for women to get vulnerable, be real, and emerge more confident and connected to purpose. I would like to give a special “Shoutout” to all the brilliant women who make Light House extraordinary. Our participants and experts are all smart and dynamic and in the midst of their already over-booked schedules, seek out like-minded yet diverse women navigating relatable life stages. When these women come together, they are united and strengthened by shared experiences and an open and honest exchange of perspectives. It’s magical!
