We had the good fortune of connecting with Cory Novak and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cory, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I come from the small town of Hannibal, Missouri. It has shaped me big time as an actor. Growing up there was an absolute blast. I was always outdoors, chilling with my five brothers and my closest buddies, making memories that’ll stick with me forever. But when it came to chasing my acting dreams, I had to step out of Hannibal’s boundaries.

Thankfully, my parents have been rock-solid in supporting my artistic ambitions. They spotted my passion for storytelling and pushed me to take acting classes. And let me tell you, it was like love at first sight. Their unwavering belief in me gave me the guts to go after acting as a career and fueled my burning determination to make it. I am very grateful for the family that I have and how amazing they are.

The bottom line, my background, and upbringing haven’t just shaped my artistic side, but also deeply influenced how I approach storytelling. They’ve showed me the ropes of hard work, always striving to grow, and the beauty of building long-lasting and meaningful friendships. So, in every project I take on, my mission is to bring genuine emotion, authenticity, and empathy to every character I bring to life.

You know what I hope for? Someday, I wanna give back to my community by setting up a foundation to support local artists who are hustling to find their place in this crazy world. ‘Cause let’s face it, it’s a tough gig out there, especially when you don’t have the same support, connections, and opportunities that big cities offer.

I wanna change that game. I have this dream of creating a space where local artists can thrive, get the support they need, and have an equal shot at success, just like those folks in the bustling city scenes. It would be nice to see more Films and TV come to Missouri.

That fire inside me drives me to level the playing field by providing resources, guidance, and connections for artists from all walks of life. It’s about giving everyone a fair chance to shine and leave their mark on the world, you know?

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I take great pride in how far I’ve come as an actor without ever giving up. I started on this journey at 17, and now, at 27, I still feel like I’m just getting started. Despite setbacks and periods of uncertainty, I’ve remained determined to pursue my passion. What sets me apart is my unwavering tenacity and refusal to quit. It hasn’t been easy, but I’ve learned the importance of perseverance and patience. I want the world to know that I’m an actor who embraces challenges, constantly evolves, and aims to inspire through authentic storytelling. My journey has shaped me and prepared me for the incredible path ahead.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend came to town, I’d make sure they have an amazing time with this week-long itinerary:

Day 1: In-N-Out Burger Indulgence
Day 2: Taco Stand Exploration
Day 3: Hollywood Boulevard Sightseeing
Day 4: Beach Day in Malibu
Day 5: Disneyland
Day 6: Hiking in Griffith Park/Observatory
Day 7: Rooftop Dining

We’d start with the iconic In-N-Out Burger for a tasty welcome. Then, we’d embark on a taco adventure, trying out various taco stands across the city. Hollywood Boulevard would be a must-visit, followed by a relaxing beach day in Malibu.

The highlight of the trip would be a full day at Disneyland, immersing ourselves in the magic of Disney. We’d also enjoy a nature hike at Griffith Park and end the trip with a rooftop dining experience.

Throughout the week, we’d explore local hotspots and soak in the diverse energy of Los Angeles. From satisfying our taste buds to experiencing iconic landmarks, it would be a fun, memorable adventure.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family is the backbone of my success and the driving force behind my aspirations. Their tireless dedication and relentless work ethic have served as a constant source of inspiration for me. Seeing the sheer determination they put into their own endeavors pushes me to work just as hard, if not harder, to keep up with their incredible example.

As an actor, I’m definitely the black sheep in my family. We’ve got pilots, engineers, and businessmen, and here I am, taking the unconventional path with an unpredictable income. But you know what? Despite all that, they’ve never discouraged me.

I gotta give props to my family for being so supportive. They may have their traditional careers, but they’ve always had my back when it comes to my passion for acting. They’ve never imposed any limitations or made me feel like my choice was any less valid.

Their love, encouragement, and belief in my dreams have been the fuel that propels me forward, especially during the challenging times. Their support has given me the confidence to take risks, pursue my passions, and embrace new opportunities.

Their open-mindedness has given me the freedom to explore my creativity and pursue what truly brings me joy. I can’t thank them enough for that. Even though we may be different in our professional choices, our bond remains unbreakable.

So yeah, I’m the black sheep, but with their support, I’ve got the confidence to chase my dreams and make it as an actor. I’m lucky to have a family that embraces my unconventional path and encourages me every step of the way.

It’s their guidance, mentorship, and genuine care that have shaped me into the person I am today. They have been my rock, providing a strong foundation from which I can confidently navigate the ups and downs of life.

So, without a doubt, my family deserves the utmost credit and recognition in my story. They are the ones who have stood by my side, cheering me on every step of the way, and for that, I am eternally grateful.
