Meet Cosette Hatch | Actor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Cosette Hatch and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cosette, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
“High tides raise all ships.” A dear friend shared it with me a few years ago, and it’s become a guiding principle in my life. I believe that when we focus on building authentic connections with people who share our values and goals, opportunities will naturally follow. By aligning ourselves with the right collaborators, we create an environment where everyone can rise together. For me, it’s a reminder to keep my energy positive, protect my peace, and trust that the right opportunities will come when we’re in sync with the right people.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
While my primary focus is acting, I take pride in being a well-rounded creative. Curiosity has always been my driving force, and I’ve followed that curiosity into many different areas of the entertainment industry. Growing up as a competitive figure skater and later coaching, I learned the importance of discipline and teamwork. After retiring from skating, I dove into acting, but my journey didn’t stop there. Along the way, I pursued a graduate degree in screenwriting, discovered a passion for film photography during the pandemic, and eventually began directing and producing. It’s fascinating how one passion can lead to the next, each building on the last.
Now, with acting at the forefront of my career, I see how all these experiences have made me a stronger actor and collaborator. I’m not just there to perform—I’m there to contribute positively, solve problems, and energize the entire production. I’ve always wanted to be the kind of actor who is fully integrated into the creative process, not someone who isolates themselves from the rest of the team. These diverse experiences have helped me get to that place, and I’m incredibly grateful for the growth they’ve brought me.
The journey wasn’t always easy, but every challenge taught me something valuable—whether it was learning new skills, embracing discomfort, or collaborating with others to bring a vision to life. I’ve learned that flexibility, open communication, and a willingness to evolve are key to success. And through it all, I’ve discovered that being genuinely connected to the process and people around you is what makes the work truly rewarding.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friends were visiting, we’d definitely start with Little Tokyo for some fun revolving sushi and a stop at Somi Somi for their amazing taiyaki ice cream. Then, of course, a trip to the beach is a must—whether it’s for a lazy day in the sand or rollerblading along the shore. If we wanted a quieter beach day, I’d take them to El Porto—it’s a hidden treasure with calm, peaceful waves. Griffith Park is a gem, and there’s so much to explore—it’s honestly like a mini adventure in itself. From there, we could hit up some of the city’s fantastic museums. Los Angeles has so many cultural spots that even the locals often miss out on. The LA Zoo is a great way to spend an afternoon, plus it’s a lovely (often shaded) walk. The Observatory at sunset is a classic, and I’m not ashamed of how cliche it might be—it’s one of the best views in the city. We’d also visit both The Getty Villa and The Getty. The Venice Canals are another spot I love to take people to—such a peaceful little escape. And no trip to LA is complete without exploring a few art-house movie theaters or hitting up a flea market on the weekend. Of course, we’d need to indulge in some taco trucks too, an LA staple. And for a little chuckle, we’d have to catch a comedy show—there are so many incredible venues around, like The Largo.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’m incredibly lucky to have been supported by so many amazing people along my journey. First, I have to give a shoutout to my friends who’ve cheered me on and whom I respect creatively more than I can explain. Josie Andrews is one of my biggest inspirations—she’s not only an incredible director but also a constant source of support, pushing me to challenge myself creatively. Dave Clark and Brian Dillon at OM Digital saw something in me years ago, and their mentorship has been a game-changer, helping me grow into the confident producer I am today. Carianne Older took my curiosity for film photography and turned it into a full-blown passion, which is a creative outlet I’ll forever treasure. Dorothy Mannine has been a big influence in my life as well, encouraging me to be unapologetically true to myself in my art. And then there’s Yung Pueblo—his books have been nothing short of transformative. After reading them, my entire energy shifted. I started making braver choices, and it’s led me to a state of peace I’ve never known before. I’m so thankful for all of these incredible people (and books) that have shaped my journey. The list of influences goes even longer, and I’m deeply grateful for each one of them. I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for my beautiful community.
