Meet Cristina Glezoro | Actor, producer, graphic designer.

We had the good fortune of connecting with Cristina Glezoro and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cristina, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Because it is what makes me happy. To be an actor is to find a safe space that allows you to explore your inner self, other peoples lives, places and circumstances that I don’t see in my everyday life. I’ve discovered that my work is never just for me and my happiness, but for others as well. The people who go see a performance end up being impacted by it; they end up discovering the world, the emotions and ideas as well. I love that.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am an actor. I came to the US almost 3 years ago and I left behind my whole life back in Mexico. And it was nerve-racking but it wasn’t hard, because I knew that if I wanted to be the actor and the person I was meant to be, it was necessary for me to come to LA. I came here to really prepare myself and exploit my potential. Now, being an actor in LA isn’t easy, there are thousands of obstacles and projects are not always falling on your hands, but that only represents an opportunity to create and expand. I’ve found myself not only acting, but using my other skills and producing, stage managing and using my graphic designer background. Life has been full of turns and shifts but I have truly enjoyed them all. I am excited about the future. I can’t wait to look back again and, just like I do now, be amazed by the progress of my career.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Okay so first we would do some hikes, Eaton Canyon and Runyon Canyon have to be on the list. Going to the beach is a most for me, so we would go to Manhattan beach and have some boba from PresoTea. An afternoon at the Griffith Observatory, with a dinner at Palms Thai restaurant. The Academy museum is another of my favorite places, I can spend hours on end in that museum. Going to the theater; a musical at the Pantages, some beautiful Shakespeare nights at Theatricum Botanicum, and a bunch of other wonderful plays at Noise Within, IAMA and the Frida Khalo Theater. People in LA should go more to the theater, it is truly wonderful. It is also necessary to find a spot that allows you to get away from loudness of the city. One of my favorite places to do it is the Fern Dell Nature Trail at Griffith park.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Oh my.. lots of people! My family and my friends back home, in Guadalajara, where the people who always encouraged me to believe in my talent and allowed me to begin my journey.
My chosen family here in LA; The Earthlings Ensamble, a group of beautiful, hard working, talented people, whom with I can put my creativity, work and ideas to a test.
And of course to anyone who has ever shared their wisdom through my journey; every director, professor who has gifted me with something to grow my craft and my passion to this beautiful art form.
