We had the good fortune of connecting with Cristina Wunderlich and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cristina, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Love and empathy! I think this is key. One aspect is the love and empathy I have towards my clients, as I support them to achieve their health goals. But more important is the love and empathy my clients show towards themselves. Many of my clients beat themselves up for doing too less exercise, eating to much junk food, working too hard, not taking enough care of themselves and so on. Often I spend the first hour with them dealing with this issues. They have to learn to have empathy towards themselves and love their bodies and characters, no matter how flawed they think they are. Once they come from a point of love the rest becomes easier. Another big factor of my success – food related – is that I help clients adapt a lectin free diet, and this dietary approach makes such an huge impact on all of them, so that they feel major changes in their well-being in less than 2 weeks. Clients dealing with digestive issues, fatigue, loss of energy, weight gain, migraines, eczema, high blood pressure, asthma, and more – they all benefit from a dietary change. And once they spread the word about their improvements, others come knocking at my door. I am so grateful for this approach, as this also made my health issues disappear. And as a last point I want to emphasize, that the biggest factor of success is the hard work the clients put into our journey together. My clients have to pay hard money to work with me, but they don’t get a magic pill. Their transformation has to come from within themselves. If they are not willing to put in the work they will not achieve the results they are hoping for. Therefore definitely – the most important factor are my clients and their willingness to succeed!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am specialized in gut health and anti-inflammatory foods. As most of our health issues start in our gut like fatigue, IBS, brain fog and so much more, this is the first and right place to start. I am not limited to this areas, I also have clients suffering from arthritis, acne, diabetes, high blood pressure, skin problems in general, and similar. I am proud that through my holistic approach, where I look not only into nutrition but into all aspects of life like career, finances, relationship, spirituality etc., the help I provide is really profound, sustainable and totally doable, as the steps of transformation are small and adjusted to each clients pace. I am convinced that my own path from the moment when I decided to be healthy until now, with all its struggles, all the different diets, all the experience with the people that came for me for help over the years makes me understand my clients better, as I have been there, where they are now. I am coaching from a point of practical knowledge and self-awareness that other coaches might only know from theory. And I think, that this sets me apart from others – I know what others are going through and how they are suffering. Regarding my business the challenges I faced were – like maybe in most cases – self-inflicted. I struggled with confidence as English is not my first language and my grammar is not perfect. But starting coaching and getting positive feedback from the people I work with made me understand, that speaking a language perfectly is not key to be able to help. If one comes from a place of love and understanding, the rest are only technicalities.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love the views while hiking, so definitely I would take friends to the Santa Monica Mountains, so they can have an amazing view of the coast and even Downtown LA. Also Will Rogers State Park, Puerco Canyon, Griffith Park, Culver City Stairs are amazing places to hike. As I live on the west side I would take them also to the Venice Beach Ocean Board Walk, the Venice Channels (totally worth it), have a stroll through Hermosa Beach and look at beautiful boats and yachts in the marina (Marina del Rey). We could hang out at the Beachside restaurant of the Jamaica Bay Inn while having a lovely view of the Marina’s beach. Abbot Kinney Blvd. in Venice is also worth a visit. It has lots of nice little shops and restaurants. Some of my friends love to visit the Warner Bros. Studios and this is so much fun, especially if you are into shows and movies – and if you’re lucky you even get to see the ‘Lucifer’-Set. Another thing all of our friends loved so far, is driving to The Rock Store (more fun if driving a motorbike) and hanging out there for a while watching the coming and going of all the fancy bikes. Friends of the TV-Show ‘Goliath’ I use to take for a drink to ‘Chez Jay’s’ in Santa Monica and while there, go for a walk to the pier and along the beach. Totally fun and a thing we do every year is ‘Knott’s Scary Farm’ around Halloween. It’s only a few weeks a year and they transform the theme park after 7pm into a scary maze. Buying VIP tickets is totally recommended and increases the fun even more. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Besides the usual suspects (family and friends) ☺ a big thank you goes to Dr. Stephen Gundry. It is his dietary knowledge and insight that helped me get rid of health issues I struggled with for at least 25 years. After suffering for so long and trying so many different approaches, his book felt into my lap and I was able to reverse my symptoms. And it is with his approach that I work with in my practice and that helps so many of my clients feel better, too.
