We had the good fortune of connecting with Crystal Aranda and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Crystal, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success is the individual relationship I have with each client. There is something so unique and special about seeing a regular client and getting updates about their lives. It shows how comfortable they are with me and that they trust me. They refer their family and best friends, which only helps my business grow more. My clients play an immense role in my success.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I take pride in my prep work. There’s nothing better than a smooth, clean canvas to work on. The best thing about it is that you get to work on 10 little different canvases. Sometimes similar, sometimes different, but the proud feeling I have afterwards is always the same. I love knowing that I can see a picture and know exactly what was used and how it was used to achieve the look. It’s so interesting, like a language that no one else speaks (unless you’re a nail artist of course.)

I went to manicurist school at the very beginning of my journey, I was 19. I took the risk and I spent the money, I didn’t know if I was going to like it for sure, I didn’t know if this was truly something I wanted for my future. I have no regrets whatsoever.

My job is to empower and make individuals feel beautiful by helping them bring their nail inspirations to life. And the best part is that this feels less like a job, and more like hanging out with a friend. I am so grateful that my clients choose me every single time.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Always start the morning off with a coffee run! Da Vien Coffee will always be my go-to! My favorite drink is a banana latte (don’t knock it ‘til you try it!) Hiking trails are super easy to find in SoCal, from Peter’s Canyon, to Laguna, all of them offer beautiful views. I personally love the beach whether it’s a drive down PCH or a walk in Newport. And of course if you’re ever in Orange, CA, visit Local Gem Collective, you’ll find the cutest things from clothes, to jewelry, to trinkets. Anything you can think of!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to thank my family, friends, and clients. To my family, thank you for believing in me and for allowing me to explore my career choices. To my friends, thank you for being right behind me every step of the way, you saw my success before I did. And to my clients, thank you for trusting my work and for letting me be part of your self care routine. If it wasn’t for your support, I wouldn’t be where I’m at today.
