Hi Crystal, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
I want to be remembered as someone who was resilient, lived fully, laughed often, and made others feel seen. Life moves fast, and I believe in soaking up every moment, whether it’s creating something meaningful, sharing stories over a great meal, or just pausing to appreciate a beautiful sunset. My hope is that people take away the lesson that even through life’s storms, there’s always light on the other side. More than anything, I want to leave behind a sense of joy, connection, and purpose, showing that resilience isn’t just about survival, but about thriving despite the odds.

What should people know about ISSA DAVII?

ISSA DAVII is a tribute, a celebration, and a movement. It’s about honoring the people who came before us, carrying their stories forward, and making sure their energy lives on. I grew up around entrepreneurs, watching people build from nothing, and that spirit shaped me. After years in corporate, I knew I wanted to create something that wasn’t just about fashion, it had to mean something.

The tagline ‘dedicated to our ancestors’ is the heart of ISSA DAVII. Every piece tells a story, blending culture, history, and modern artistry. It’s about resilience, creativity, and embracing who we are. The journey hasn’t always been easy, but when you’re fueled by a purpose bigger than yourself, the challenges become part of the story. If you know your ‘why,’ you’ll always find your way.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
LA is all about good energy, great food, and unforgettable experiences. We’d start the day with coffee and a slow morning by the ocean, because nothing beats the sound of waves. Then, brunch at Élephante, a stop at The Getty Villa to take in some culture, and of course, wrapping up the night with a concert at one of LA’s legendary venues. Good music, good company, and moments that turn into stories, that’s my kind of day.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I dedicate this to my ancestors, the ones whose resilience, artistry, and vision paved the way for me. Everything I create is for them.
