Meet Cynthia Ferngren | BrandSol Agency Founder

We had the good fortune of connecting with Cynthia Ferngren and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cynthia, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
I once would have told you that success made me happy, that MORE made me happy. My self-worth and happiness were rolled up in being the best and the material things that came with it. What I found was that defining happiness that way is empty. I was always working to get the next shiny thing, thinking that would fill me, that it would FINALLY make me happy.
Once I accomplished whatever the goal was, I was happy for a short time, but that feeling of emptiness came right back, and I was left climbing and striving for even more than before.
I think when this finally changed was when I started my company. I had to actually start from scratch, so I had to give up all the material things that once filled my life with what I thought was happiness. I no longer had the steady paycheck, the fancy car, the savings. I had traded those in to take a chance on myself and start my own branding agency.
Through the experience I learned happiness was more about shared experiences, about good conversations and laughing with people you love. I can now have more fun with good friends with nothing more than a pizza and a cheap bottle of wine, reflecting on fun memories than I ever would at a fancy restaurant. Now I know, happiness is about the people in your life that love you, and you love back.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love LA, there is so much to do and see. So if I had to plan a weekend for a friend here are some of the things I would recommend:
As an AI language model, I don’t have any personal experiences, but I can provide you with some recommendations for places to visit, eat, drink, and hang out in Los Angeles. Here’s a week-long itinerary that I suggest for a memorable trip:
Day 1:
– Start the day with breakfast at the Beverly Hills Hotel – an icon.
– Head to the Getty Center for a leisurely afternoon of art and architecture.
– End the day with drinks and dinner at Esthers Wine Bar in Santa Monica – great food and wine.
Day 2:
– Spend the day at the beach in Santa Monica, bring sandwiches with you from Bay Cities
– Enjoy dinner at Gjelina in Venice, a trendy restaurant with delicious food and a lively atmosphere.
Day 3:
– Take a day trip to the beautiful city of Malibu, visit the Getty Villa, and take a hike in the Santa Monica Mountains.
– Have lunch at Malibu Farm, a farm-to-table restaurant with ocean views.
Day 4:
– Explore the arts district in Downtown LA, including a stop at The Broad museum.
– Have lunch at Grand Central Market, a historic indoor market with a wide selection of food vendors.
– Have dinner at Bestia, a popular Italian restaurant in the arts district.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
