Meet DAB Bowie | Musician/ Songwriter

We had the good fortune of connecting with DAB Bowie and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi DAB, what is the most important factor behind your success?
One of the most important factors behind any successful person or brand is their ability to connect with others. The music industry as well as many other industries is a tight knit community. If your not a part of this community its harder to collaborate and connect with other successful peers. When I was coming up in Alabama I always did music with my friends and anyone else I could find. It was always something I was very excited about, so i would go to studios and places i felt like i would meet people with like minds. You dont need to meet a celebrity or someone in the “game” in order to be involved. Just use the resources in your grasp, if you continue to surround yourself with others who share the same goals as you, its much easier to achieve. Your best friend, or relative could actually be the star youve been waiting to work with. You could be the star youve always dreamed of working with. The key is to work, and to network. If your serious about these things and practice them on a religious level. The rest will fall into place.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As musicians and songwriters, we must not neglect our ability to encourage and influence millions of lives. It makes me excited to be able to share an idea or emotion with someone that allows them to smile, laugh or to simply know that they are not alone. I intend to provoke love and thought through my music. Every song is not gonna be happy, but its good to know your not the only person out their dealing with drama. Being able to paint a picture and bring someone into a life they may not have known or even considered has great power. It was a hard road to get to where I am today, and everyday continues to be somewhat of a battle. For those who do arts, its very vulnerable work that requires a great deal of emotion in not only its creation, but in its business aspects as well. Its easy to feel taken advantage of and discouraged so it brings me joy to share these struggles with others so that they may see light at the end of the tunnel. When your out there chasing a particular type of success its easy to lose sight of what counts. And what counts is consistency, collaboration and communication with the things you do have access to and the things you dont have access to will actually access you. Id like my brand to continue to inspire. As i begin to share new music as an artist Im excited to interact with my fans and peers from the main stage.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
L.A is a sprawling community with many nooks and cranny’s. Given the fact that we’ve been going through a pandemic alot of hangout spots are either closed or have changed forever. Honestly I dont host much but when you come to LA i feel like Donuts, Street Tacos and the beaches are a must! Places like Project Taco really express the Cali food creatives. Would love to enjoy a comedy club as soon as possible. Plenty of nature trails and parks to explore. Not to mention many people have never purchased legal weed. That experience in itself could relieve a lot of PTSD.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
This Shout Out goes to my brother Lucky Daye and the subtle energies that define our universe and domain. I am thankful for this Hueman experience
