Meet Daleshareé Lee | Singer/songwriter/artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Daleshareé Lee and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Daleshareé, why did you pursue a creative career?
I chose the creative & artistic path because it’s always been something that’s been instilled in me as a young child. I love to sing & my mom is one person who originally inspired me to pursue music. Music became a huge passion of mine because of my mom. She was a Soprano in our church choir at the time & that’s what got me started. I feel like I got it from her. At church, I was also in the kids choir so that also gave me my start. That was the foundation.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As you know, I am a singer songwriter, but I love R&B music & that’s my primary genre. However, I love many other genres such as Hip Hop, Neo Soul, Jazz, Pop/Pop-Rock etc. I just enjoy the different elements of instrumentation that you get from other genres of music & I’d like to incorporate that in my future productions as I grow on my musical journey. I feel that’s what sets me apart aside from being a dope songwriter. If I hear a unique beat that sparks my interest, I’ll definitely write to it. But it has to be different or have that special something about it.
Currently, I’m working on a relationship EP & I’m super excited about it because it’ll be my first official project. It’s been a long time coming for sure. My goal is to drop it at the end of 2023 so please stay tuned & follow me for more updates.
It’s been a roller coaster ride to even get to the recording process of my career because years before, I didn’t have the money to afford studio time. Plus, my mom was very ill at the time & jobs just weren’t paying enough so any little bit I could save, I put it towards building my own studio in my bedroom. Believe me the setup wasn’t much, but I had enough to buy a program, a usb mic, & I thank God I already had my laptop from college lol. I used that to make & upload covers of me singing on YouTube. This was great practice for me. It prepared me so I’d be ready to record in a real studio.
It definitely wasn’t easy, but I’ve learned to trust the process. In spite of all the financial issues & going through a tough time with mom’s illnesses, I stayed the course & never gave up. I’m so glad I didn’t because if I did I would have never known the true potential I see in myself today. I’ve come a long way, but I’m still gonna keep pushing forward. I’m not done yet, I’m just getting started.
I want the world to know that you can do anything you put your mind to. Keep God first & stay focused. As an artist, a brand, & as a human, my goal is to inspire, spread love, & positivity. That’s who I am. Daleshareé.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
So we’d definitely have to go eat lol. I love to eat & Vegas has options for sure so I’d let them pick. Next, it’s mandatory to do some shopping. Gotta look good while you feel good. Then of course I’d take my bestie to go see a show on the strip. There’s so many different shows & concerts that go on here, I don’t think she’d be disappointed. And you know we gotta hit up a day pool or nightclub. They say what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas haha. Just kidding, but just know the drinks will be flowing the entire week they’re visiting.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I definitely want to dedicate this shoutout to my mom (RIP), my big brothers, close friends, & to all of you who take the time to listen to my music & truly support me. It means a lot. Trying to make it in this industry is tough & it’s not always easy sharing your art to the world, especially being vulnerable and all. My support system is very small so any little bit counts & I’m so appreciative.
I also want to thank my grade school music teachers for everything they’ve taught me throughout the years. I’ve learned so much & without them or being in choir throughout school, I don’t know if I would have grew much vocally or musically.
