We had the good fortune of connecting with Dalit Saad and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dalit, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Entrepreneurship runs in my blood. Being Jewish, my family fled eastern Europe and started new lives in Mexico City, building businesses from scratch without knowing the language. That kind of resilience, that ability to create something from nothing – was in my DNA.

But the real moment? At my wedding, my younger brother, David, gave a speech and told Adam (my husband and co-founder) and me that we’d be dumb not to combine our creative forces and start something of our own. After we got married, we decided to go all in. We quit our jobs and built Kvell from the ground up.

Kvell is a culture-content agency that helps brands like Adobe, Starbucks, and Amazon unlock their fandom on social.

What should our readers know about your business?
At the time when we started, big agencies were doing incredible traditional work, but were completely lost when it came to social. They treated it like an afterthought – repurposing print ads as Instagram posts, cutting down TV spots for social videos. Meanwhile, the same few creators were getting recycled across every brand.

Adam and I saw a big opportunity to launch a social first agency helping brands and agencies to create content that people actually enjoyed on their feeds.

To do this we ditched the old-school structures and made our own rules. We’re a female-led agency in a man’s world. We’re nimble and non-traditional in a world of slow-moving giants. We curate braintrusts of experts to gain insights, no matter how niche. We partner with talented and diverse social creators to produce content. And we collaborate remotely and produce at the speed of social. Truly the anti-agency.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We’d start the morning on Larchmont Boulevard, bouncing between Sua for matcha and Clark Street for breakfast. For some fresh air and scenic views, we’d hit Runyon Canyon for a hike.

Next stop: Leora Café in Beverly Hills – everything on the menu is chef’s kiss, so you really can’t go wrong. For a self-care moment, we’d reset at Surya Spa, the ultimate Ayurvedic escape.

Dinner at South Beverly Grill is a must (and we’re definitely starting with the artichoke spinach dip). We’d wrap up the night at a comedy club – because what’s better than ending the day with a good laugh?”

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate this Shoutout to my parents for always believing in me and never letting me give up on my dreams and passions. Their unwavering love and support have been the foundation of my journey. And to my husband and co-founder, Adam – my greatest partner and the wind beneath my wings – this wouldn’t have been possible without you.
