Meet Daniel (DJ) Jones | IMAGE CURATOR

We had the good fortune of connecting with Daniel (DJ) Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Daniel (DJ), what are you inspired by?
I am inspired by everything around me. My friends inspire me daily, we all discuss big moves we have planned and we always think of US doing it together and no single person is left behind. Im inspired of course by the youth and dope new creatives I follow on IG or ones that hit me up randomly on IG. Also, just being from Brooklyn you walk out the door seeing art, graffiti, peoples style, hair, practically any and everything creative and you can’t not be inspired being here.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart from others is that i am genuinely ME, very authentic and very chill AF. My spirit and energy is quite unmatched and is just something I really cant put into words (because i’m not good at this type of stuff lol) its really you just have to be around me to understand and my friends will vouch for me on this.
I am excited for whats next, if you know me I’m not really a planner at all but i live for the next day never knowing what is next or planned and i am always hyped about the unknowing which is dope to me.
How did I get here…Thats a hell of a story (y’all should record these for people that are not writers LOL). Its really along story though and it def was not easy at all but i am bless AF to be here and love every part of the journey.
Lessons I have learned along the way especially in this fashion industry have real and true friends and stay true to who you are and everyone is a human just like you.
The world will find out in time and the story speaks for itself.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Thats a great question….Honestly, the first day I would take them to the park after drinking mushroom tea and then we would go people watch and curate our own storylines on persons walking by. Its literally my favorite pass time with a bottle of white wine just vibing to our own journeys.
We would bar hop to some of my go to bars around brooklyn, kick it in fort green triangle just chilling, probably hit bk museum then chill on the steps outside of there and people watch more and find a great place for dinner. Im so chill we would just have a cool ass day.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Sheeshhhh…LOL!!! There are sooooo many people that have been a catalyst in my journey. I will start for my mother for starters. She was the diva the one dressing flyer than everyone in our neighborhood. Everywhere we went everyone was intrigued by her style so I got a lot of that from her. Then we can go on to some amazing mentors such as Jason Rembert. He was the man that actually really gave me a shot in assisting and learning the ins/outs of the styling world so with out him a lot of this is def not happening. Then Kesha Mccleoud who I assisted for too as well she taught me the styling world for styling athletes and gave me a real chance as well. Then can’t forget about my OG the legend himself i’m so happy to have been in this mans presence and happy I can call him at anytime for any help or advise “GROOVEY F*CKING LEW” lol. He really catapulted me into another space and how I started styling my own clients. Also def huge shout out to all my friends they held me down financially while i’m waiting on invoice to be paid lol and just being there trusting and believing in me from Stewart Rouse, Christopher Reed, Daniel Lee (the other Daniel), Leon Johnson, Daniel Wats (Another Daniel), my boy Bryan Joel, My Sis Tia Glover, Amy Oraefo, Audra Gooch, Nija Leocadio, Damn this feel like an acceptance speech LOL. But I could go on and on….
