We had the good fortune of connecting with Daniel Odesanya and Cherie Chua and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Daniel and Cherie, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
When we first started Luxe Bites, we came in 100 miles an hour and didn’t care too much about having a balance between work and life. We opened 7 days a week from 8am to midnight. We invested every ounce of energy into building the business up! Two years later, as entrepreneurs would understand, business never ends! However, we have put some great practices and habits in place so that we keep the passion up and stay far from burnout. We make it a habit to upkeep favorite hobbies, travels and daily routines. We learned the importance of delegation to our staff members and how to be productive. We focus on building efficiency and automation so that we can achieve more in a 24 hour period. It is a work in progress but nonetheless with vital learning lessons every step of the way!

What should our readers know about your business?Luxe Bites was established two years ago when we came together and decided to take charcuterie boards and catering to a whole new level in Los Angeles! Starting from ground zero and from 0 Instagram followers is a daunting move but we motivated each other to keep a clear vision on where we saw our future with Luxe Bites. Both of us moved to Los Angeles with big dreams of our beautiful future living in Los Angeles and to retire our parents. Our different backgrounds and expertise ultimately united us as a dream team. The beginning of the road wasn’t easy but we stayed patient and kept working hard. We grew from mini picnic charcuterie boards and individual charcuterie cups to large charcuterie boards and full event catering setups in Los Angeles. We absolutely thrive in being part of our clients’ special days and work hard season after season to bring the trendiest charcuterie board ideas to life. Whether you need a summer charcuterie board or a Thanksgiving charcuterie board, we have you covered!

Initially, we would give out many complimentary charcuterie boxes to Instagram influencers and to corporate companies. We would drop in, reach out via email and Instagram DMs in hopes of landing something worthwhile! We never turned any order or any opportunity down and that still remains consistent to this day. There is no such thing as sold out or fully booked in our dictionaries!

We learned the importance of work life balance, finding the right team members to grow with and how imperative it was to always stay ahead of the curve. Competition will always be stiff but we never let it deter our mindsets! We continue to grow every day and stay awake in how we can improve the quality, aesthetics and the experience for our clients

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

Our favorite restaurants are Ocean Prime, Mastro’s and Tao’s- Those are a must!

We absolutely love Universal Studios and a day trip to Manhattan Beach and El Matador Beach in Malibu!

We enjoy bike rides and beach cycle classes in Santa Monica

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We want to thank our families, friends and all the loyal clients who have supported us in this amazing journey from day one!
