We had the good fortune of connecting with Daniel Wargo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Daniel, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
It’s honestly just in my blood. I come from a family of musicians and being creative was always supported and encouraged. Growing up we always had to study an instrument and eventually for me that turned into a love of performing and storytelling. I went to college for Musical Theatre and have just always known that my passion and happiness comes from being able to be creative and work for myself.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started creating content in the summer of 2020 after a few major life shifts. I had been thinking about it for a long time and I finally got the courage to jump in and do it. I had no idea what kind of content I wanted to create and never imagined myself eating food on the internet, but that’s where the journey took me and I’m so grateful. It has been the hardest, most time consuming, often heart breaking thing I’ve ever done in my life, but the decision to bet on myself was the best one I’ve ever made. The main thing I’ve learned over the past four years of doing this is if you want something, you have to work toward that thing every single day without stopping and good things will happen. I didn’t fully realize how important that was before starting this, but I think that’s all that matters. If I had to say one thing I’d want people to really know about what I do it’s that my main goal is to free people from the stresses of life, even if that’s just in a 90 second video talking about food. If you laugh, roll your eyes or maybe just get a little bit hungry then that’s everything to me.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I had someone in town for a week there would be a lot of fun things I would want to show them. We would be spending some time in the Valley because that’s where I live so I would definitely take them for a Breakfast Burrito at Bread and Breakfast. Some other meals I would make sure we hit up would be the Filipino food from Kuya Lord, Tacos from Villas Tacos probably at the Grand Central location so they could see downtown and while we’re down there we would definitely need to hit up Holbox for literally anything, but probably also tacos. I’d also make sure to have an AYCE KBBQ feast at my favorite spot, Hae Jang Chon. As far as sightseeing I would definitely want to take them to Malibu, hike Fryman Canyon and take them on an LA History tour. I’m a big LA history nerd so I would definitely subject them to that information at some point during the week.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The two people who deserve endless shoutouts from me forever and always are my parents. They have been endlessly supportive of me in my chosen career, whether it’s talking me off the ledge when times are tough, or giving me advice and always being the best cheerleaders in the world. I’m endlessly grateful for that.
