We had the good fortune of connecting with Daniella Clarke & Barbaranne Wylde and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Daniella Clarke &, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?

We met over a pair of platform shoes and became kind of obsessed with each other. We soon realized that we had so much in common, especially our passion for embracing health, wellness, and aging (or Not) gracefully. Together, we were constantly searching and sharing products and procedures to make us feel great when it occurred to us that we should be of public service and share our Honest AF knowledge as a podcast. As Daniella likes to say, we are of a certain “stature” and going through all these life, mental, and physical changes and challenges. What better way to gather and create a community than the podcast space? We are the same age, married to musicians for over 30 years, both moms and businesswomen, We share our Real thoughts and conversations with our listeners., as well as Professional and Celebrity guests. Products, procedures, marital challenges, Sex, Love and Rock n Roll, nothing is off the table!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

Daniella: I am a creative director and fashion designer. Best known for corrupting the youth of America by creating the low-rise jean craze of the early 2000s with my brand that I founded called Frankie B. Since selling the company, I most recently launched a collaboration with my daughter’s (namesake of Frankie B.) band Frankie + The Studs, and Forever 21. I’m also Barbs other half in our Honest AF Show podcast.

Barbaranne: I manage my husband, Zakk Wylde, and his bands, Black Label Society and Zakk Sabbath. Together, we own and run a multimillion-dollar merchandising company, his music publishing company, and the Organic Fair Trade Coffee brand, Valhalla Java, manufactured by Deathwish Coffee Company. The biggest challenge is working together and still maintaining our home life and marriage.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

Daniella: I would first take them to lunch at Malibu Farms in Malibu on the pier, shopping at the Malibu Country Mart, stop for coffee at Alfred’s Coffee and dinner at Little Doms in Los Feliz they make the best Risotto balls. The next day, I would take them to Big Sur for the most breathtaking views we would stay at the Post Ranch Inn, have lunch at Nepenthe Tree House Restaurant, and go on a hike. I would also suggest a visit to Wine Country specifically I love Los Olivas, and A must is a stopover at Solvang while you’re there for some yummy pastries. Another stopover in that area is a little hidden gem called the Cuyama Buckhorn for a night’s stay and farm-to-table fare, along with a killer bar.

Barbaranne: I love Los Angeles and California. I would have to start with a trip to my home, across from the Castaic Lake on 10 acres, “Serenity Now”! The next day, we’d hit the Getty Museum, an absolute must between the art, gardens, and view. Malibu Beach would be next up with lunch, coffee, and shopping at Cross Creek. We’d have to hit Beverly Hills, Rodeo for Gucci, and YSL on to Melrose. I would want to take anyone I love to Maria Tash for a new piercing, the Real Real for the best vintage finds, and Violet Grey for the most premium, scrutinized beauty products. Coffee break at Alfred’s and maybe a dreamy spa visit to the new and fabulous Biologique Spa. No trip to Los Angeles would be complete without a rock show at the Hollywood Bowl, the Greek Theatre, or any of the multitude of killer Hollywood venues!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

We would want to shout out to each other for the endless conversation and comedic relief and our original Producer, Lisa Goich.

Daniella: I’ll do a shoutout to Gilby Clarke for helping us and letting us invade his studio space and my muse and daughter, Frankie Clarke, for always inspiring me. Also, shoutout to Wasteland for all they do for fashion and the community

Barbaranne: My husband, Zakk Wylde, for taking me along for the ride. My Mentor, chosen family and friend, Sharon Osbourne

We would also like to shout out Dr. Alexander Rivkin, Dr. Arash Moradzadeh, Dr. Anna Guanche, and Dr. “Rahi” Sarbazina for bringing us close to the “Fountain of Youth”
