Meet Danielle McCleerey | Executive Business Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Danielle McCleerey and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Danielle, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
The biggest mistake I ever made was believing that work life “balance” was the goal. For years I hustled and grinded so hard, just waiting to get to the point where life could feel balanced- with no success. Then it hit me- work life balance doesn’t exist. At least not for people who want to have a calm central nervous system.
Balance insinuates 50/50. Nothing in work and life can ever be 50/50. When I would chase 50/50 I constantly felt like I was on a hamster wheel or rollercoaster that I couldn’t exit. Trying to balance on that tightrope, hoping it would start to feel good in my body.
Having a calm central nervous system has always been the goal. The truth is- a calm central nervous system is not built by having balance. Because you spend more time trying to stay balanced, then actually feeling peace around what you’ve built.
A calm central nervous system is built by finding HARMONY. It’s maintained by building a business around my life context- not the other way around. My priorities in life and business are peace and freedom for me and my family, so every business decision I make and every opportunity I take needs to bring me more peace and more freedom, otherwise it’s a very simple “no”. I don’t seek out balance- I trust that the harmony of work and life is cultivated in my daily actions, thoughts, and decisions. I no longer feel like I am simply “trying to balance on a tightrope”. By doing that, my business became even more successful, and that feels really good.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a Business coach and mentor for freedom seeking entrepreneurs. My coaching is rooted 80% in wealth energetics, and 20% strategy. The reason why this works and is so needed, is because often in business we are taught strategy and logic only. No one actually comes along and supports our mental and emotional development. I am the one people hire when they feel like they are “trying everything”, but either nothing is working, or on paper it looks great but on the inside they are burnt out and considering burning their business to the ground. I started this business because there a time about 5 years ago when I had built my first business. On paper, I had it all. The house, the car, the lifestyle…on the inside I was swallowing daily anxiety and I literally looked at my wife and said, “if this is success, I don’t want it”. So I pivoted hard. I launched a brand new coaching business, committed to supporting entrepreneurs through the parts of business you cannot see. The energetics. I really help my clients reframe their subconscious mind, to eliminate their limiting beliefs that are keeping them stuck. I have learned so many lesson along the way. The biggest one is that you cannot out strategy lack of mindset. I have defined and redefined my business so many times to get it to where it is now. I am here to help as many people as I can stand in their personal power, break society’s matrix for what success looks like, and live their most epic life.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Here’s my itinerary for a week long girls trip in LA: Monday: Arrive, get settled in, and do a relaxing dinner at Masa in Echo Park. After a day of travel, pizza is a must.
Tuesday: SoulCycle class in Pasadena at 8:30am with JoJo, followed by Acai bowls at Roots and Rye. We would then get ready for the day and head to Silverlake to shop on Sunset, have lunch at Monty’s Good Burger and the go to The Raven for spa treatments in the late afternoon.
Wednesday: Barry’s bootcamp with Kyle K in Hollywood, followed by brunch in Los Feliz.
Thursday: Disneyland all day
Friday: Spa Day at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons, followed by the pool. This will be an ALL DAY event, and we will finish with dinner at The Blvd.
Saturday: Morning exercise at The Class in Santa Monica, with Pixie. We would then hit Urth Cafe for Breakfast, and then hike through the Santa Monica Mountains and a Beach Day at Zuma. We will grab dinner at Planta in Marina Del Rey.
For me, a week in LA is best spent avoiding the tourist traps, and really getting to know the locals version of the city.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Yes- I want to shoutout SoulCycle. This was really the start of my entrepreneurial journey. Granted, I worked for the company as an instructor and on the talent development team, but to fill my classes meant me building a personal brand. I had to learn about marketing, social media, and branding. SoulCycle really taught me about leadership (what to do, and what not to do), and also gave me great insight on the things that work when building a brand, as well as something that didn’t. I wouldn’t be who I am today without that company.
