Meet Danielle Nowak | Founder & CEO

We had the good fortune of connecting with Danielle Nowak and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Danielle, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Hi! My name is Danielle. I created Natural Sands after going through a hard time in my life, where I found myself very depressed and passionless. I was lost and needed something to bring that joy back into my life. I decided to join my two passions: art and business – Natural Sands was born!
This business started as just something to do in my free time and has grown into so much more than that!
I hope to use my products to make other’s lives better and more fun! I want my products to make you smile every time you look at what you bought! Enjoy my small business!
In the past years, I even expanded my products from jewelry to include: candles, room sprays, reusable paper towels, beer can glasses, DIY necklaces, and hand-embroidered totes! Everything is handmade by me and I love to see people enjoy my hand-crafted products!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My day job is a CRM Associate Marketer at Outer! I work on all things from emails, SMS and anything else CRM related! Working at a startup has definitely helped me with my own business! I get to learn what all goes into a successful business and everything you have to think of! That being said- it is hard to do everything I want with my own business as a one-person team! Overall, all my business experience from going to school at Ohio State, different internships/projects, my current job and Natural Sands has contributed to a lot of useful knowledge that I am ready to use! The hard part is executing on what you know to do!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My best friends actually just visited last week! I made them a whole itinerary of everything we should do for 4 days.
Day 1: Griffith Observatory & Hollywood Walk of Fame ( I suggest eating in Westwood at Cava or Gogobop)
Day 2: Rodeo Drive & my fav rooftop bar (the top of the Sixty Hotel) – Eat in Sawtelle (Tatsu Ramen is my favorite)
Day 3: Melrose & The Grove, then hit Weho! Eat at the Broxton in Westwood!
Day 4: Santa Monica Pier & my number #1 spot to take guests – bacari W. 3rd
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have to shoutout my mom. Before I moved to LA she would stay up late before a market helping to prepare everything for me! She has always been supportive and happy to participate in my new project ideas! She also loves to help with markets and talk with different customers. I definitely miss her helping out since I moved to LA!
