We had the good fortune of connecting with Dante “ DP” Patterson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dante “ DP”, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
The way I think about risks is that there will always be the unknown. Some people are ok with not finding out. But, I’ve always been this way since a kid.I’d do something and live with the result or consequence. Because I know what happens if I don’t right ? What if I do and the end result is beneficial.
The role that risks have played in my life/career has been crucial. An example is while at Boston College studying marketing. One of my classmates his dad was the founder of New Balance.I sat there looked at him and said this kid is good. I had my oldest daughter at the time was just born and with no family resource’s.
I told myself I have to be that resource. What this kid’s father had established for his children that was an opportunity I wanted the same for my future family/close friends.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am an entrepreneur who specializes in being a creative visionary , connecting people/brands together , and utilize my network to feed off itself. If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I had a friend visiting Boston for a week. There are a few places that I would bring them. Definitely Back Bay/Copley area good for shopping and site seeing.
When eating brunch we hitting either , Strega in the North End , Eva on Newbury St, or Fete on Kingston.
If we doing dinner Maestro’s, Contessa , Lucca, or Reel House.
I would definitely bring them through the hood so they can get a feel of where I grew up & see the streets Malcolm X once roamed. The place where MLK a and Coretta have history. The home of R&B legends New Edition. Home of 2-time National Baksetball Champion Shabazz Napier. The numerous music producers , artist , hoopers , football players etc… from here that don’t get enough praise.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d first like to thank GOD without him anything I’ve been able to experience in life wouldn’t have been possible.
My two beautiful daughter’s ,my family , and both my business partner’s.
The countless people who have allowed me to showcase my talent with their brands, businesses, or careers especially John Randolph aka John Violinist.
Lastly, anyone who has rooted for my success and even those who have not. The people I’ve given access or helped level up GOD knows the deal.
