We had the good fortune of connecting with David Goldman & David Gabriel Sapo Studios and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi David Goldman & David Gabriel, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
We started the Sapo Studios podcast as a way to meet other creatives and dig into what it means to turn your passion into a career. That turned into a forum where not only could our audience learn, but so could we, about the secrets to finding success. Additionally, the podcast served as a way for us to further network in Los Angeles, and collaborate with other individuals on a similar journey to ours.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I think the biggest thing we’ve learned is to lean very hard into walking your truest path. If you are a creative, truly explore and embrace your creative journey. The people we have interviewed that we see finding success are those willing to continually put themselves out there, seek out opportunities that others may feel are long-shots, and be open-minded and receptive to what the universe puts in front of you. While the podcast started as a means of interviewing musicians, we ultimately shifted to interviewing artists of all kinds. We are filmmakers at heart, and staying true to the hardworking individuals we are, in a sideways sort of way, being consistent and diligent podcasters led us to a residency at a film production studio where we currently find ourselves creating our next projects.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The Kia Forum is an awesome concert venue that consistently delivers an epic show. From J. Cole, to Harry Styles, to Chris Rock & Dave Chapelle, the acts that come through this Los Angeles concert venue are legends. LA is also home to some of the best Mexican food you can find. If we had friends visiting, we would undoubtedly take them to Angel’s Tijuana Tacos on Victory and Vineland. Lastly, for some drinks and a really unique entrance/experience, I think we’d pop on down to Good Times at Davey Wayne’s in Hollywood.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Frogland, a group of well-established creatives having done work for the likes of Disney and Netflix productions, came together to form the Notorious Frog NFT project. Frogland helped us not only conceptualize the idea for our show, but offered assistance and resources to keep us moving forward. They have truly been wonderful business partners and even better friends. Ernie Hurtado from Don’t Tell Studios was also instrumental in honing in the perfect audio setup to broadcast a clean sound on a consistent basis.
