Meet Dayjah Rogers | Designer & CEO of Good Bad Girl

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dayjah Rogers and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dayjah, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The foremost priority for me is the freedom to savor life and establish a better lifestyle not only for myself but also for my loved ones. Fashion has been my passion since childhood; I’ve consistently been the go-to person in my social circles for fashion tips or the one with a closet everyone wants to raid. With a naturally business-oriented mindset, I continuously explore ways to turn my dream into a profitable venture.
The fusion of my love for fashion and the aspiration to build a successful business led me to create my own clothing brand, ‘Good Bad Girl.’ It’s an online clothing brand that advocates for individuality and encourages girls to embrace every aspect of themselves, both the good and the bad!
What should our readers know about your business?
I’ve distinguished my brand by drawing inspiration from today’s fashion trends while maintaining originality and always infusing it with my unique touch! Good Bad Girl is designed to encourage women to take pride in every aspect of being a woman—our individual personalities, bodies, and styles should be celebrated daily for the world to see.
The daring designs of Good Bad Girl create space to embrace the less polished sides of us girls or fully embody grace and elegance. The message my brand conveys is that the choice is ours to make. The creativity, consistency, and accountability required to build a brand aren’t always easy, but this is what I love doing. The seeds I planted from day one will undoubtedly grow into everything I set out for them to be.
I take pride in my ability to be indefatigable during challenging times while maintaining a proper perspective. I embarked on this journey in 2018, and the fact that I am still running a fully operational business on my own, bringing my designs to fruition, is one of my proudest accomplishments. All I had to do was keep going; yes, rest and breaks are essential, but I made sure to set deadlines for when I would get back to business !!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
For an unforgettable day with my girls in Los Angeles, we kick off with a leisurely shopping on Melrose Avenue or at the Grove, indulging in the latest trends from stylish boutiques. Afterward, we unwind with handcrafted cocktails, delectable food, and lively girl talk at iconic spots like The Highlight Room or rooftop bars in Hollywood. Amidst the glamour, our conversations naturally drift towards planning our next travel escapade, fueling our excitement for the adventures that lie ahead. It’s the perfect blend of fashion, fun, and friendship.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are a few people who have profoundly influenced my life decisions. Firstly, a big shout-out goes to my mom! When I shared my dream of starting a clothing brand and designing women’s clothing with her, she showered me with support and invested in my brand. She consistently ensures that I am proactive in some way or another.
The second person who truly inspired me to build something of my own is my grandmother. She has been a successful business owner for 25 years, demonstrating how the impossible can become possible. As an immigrant from Jamaica, she overcame various challenges to establish one of the most renowned and successful Jamaican restaurants in Southern California called ‘Donna’s Home Caribbean Restaurants.’
Another significant influence in my life, from whom I draw daily inspiration, is the fashion designer and business owner Milan Harris. She owns the fashion brand Milan Di Rouge, specializing in luxury sweat suits. Our stories are remarkably similar, and she empowers me to aim for the stars in pursuing what I want in life. Beyond running a successful clothing brand, Milan also makes a tremendous impact on her community through her company, the ‘Womanaire Club,’ which focuses solely on uplifting other women. I aspire to be a great support like my mother, inspiring like my grandmother, and as impactful as Milan to people and communities in need.
