Meet Ddabong Korean | Korean Slang Educator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ddabong Korean and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ddabong, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Here’s a refined version of your draft:
Hello, we are Ddabong Korean.
We’re a couple living in Korea—Daniel and Jennie. Daniel is an overseas Korean who spent many years in LA, while Jennie is a native Korean living in Seoul.
We created this Instagram account to introduce more natural and practical Korean expressions to foreigners learning the language.
While there’s an abundance of English-teaching content in Korea, we noticed a lack of resources focused on teaching Korean to non-native speakers. With the growing global interest in Korean culture, we felt inspired to combine our skills and create quality educational content.
Our focus is on ensuring the expressions we teach are natural, fresh, and commonly used by native Koreans.
We handle every step of the process together, from planning and design to final review.
Although our channel is still small, we aim to grow it steadily over time.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
One of the things we’re most proud of is our ability to introduce the latest and most natural Korean slang.
While there aren’t too many pages dedicated to teaching Korean slang, there are a fair number out there. To set ourselves apart, we constantly keep an eye on Korean YouTube channels and social media to find and share the newest and most interesting slang.
Another strength of ours is our clean and polished design. We strive to maintain a professional layout, similar to study materials, while also incorporating engaging illustrations and effects that match each expression.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
One place we highly recommend visiting in Korea, especially in Seoul where we live, is Seonyudo Park. Seonyudo Park offers beautiful natural scenery and is close to various tourist attractions. If you visit Mangwon Market nearby, you can enjoy the charm and flavors of a traditional Korean market.
Both of us, Daniel and Jennie, often visit places like these to escape the busy city life of Seoul and enjoy nature.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
As a team, we’d like to give each other a shout-out. We come from different backgrounds and bring unique strengths to the table. For example, Jennie, with her background in graphic design, handles all the design elements, while Daniel takes charge of the English transcripts.
By collaborating, we not only highlight each other’s strengths but also support and improve on each other’s weaknesses.
