We had the good fortune of connecting with Dean Ben-Zour and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dean, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Since my dad is a small business owner, growing up I used to work at his shop in my free time. As a matter of fact, my first job as a marketing specialist was to help integrate my dad’s business structure with online marketing. No matter how hard I tried, it seemed like the game was too rigged, and a small business owner cannot compete with companies that have a big marketing budget. In order to have success in online marketing you either have to spend a lot of money, or hire an in-house professional that will take care of it for you. Since I knew my dad was not the only one who struggles with this new market, It was clear to me that I have to find a solution that will bring small business owners to the front of the stage and in a sense, level the playing field so that a business owner won’t have to give up their marketing efforts only because their budget is “too low”.

What should our readers know about your business?
Coming off from a very technical background, Eli as a programmer and I as an Econ & Math graduate, we decided to team up and create a marketing agency that uses formulas and scientific processes to come up with creative solutions. We want to show that while there is no one-size-fits-all solution for marketing, there sure are formulas that can guarantee success. We make sure to put honesty and integrity as the guiding pillar of our business. Since online paid ads have been a key player in marketing for a couple of decades, most business owners had tried advertising in one point or another, and in most cases, they had a bad experience either with the platform or the agency they worked with, so it is very important for us to have full transparency and work in cooperation with our clients.
We want our business to be a tool for businesses of all sizes to use as their guide toward success. By making online marketing available for all, we can create a market where it’s really up to you how much your business will grow.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Los Angeles is so big and full with things to do, so usually I try to adjust the itinerary based on the person who’s visiting. If I have to choose how I would spend a week in Los Angeles it will definitely include going to Universal Studios and the City Walk. I will show them Griffith Observatory and probably tour around Silver Lake and Echo Park. We would also go to the Grove and the farmers market next to it, perhaps take a tour at LACMA. As far as food goes, I love our fast food here in L.A so I would definitely take them to In N Out (Obviously), Salsa & Beer, and Trejo’s Tacos.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
As an L.A local, I think one of my biggest inspiration is Kobe Bryant. Honestly any quote about work ethic and commitment will work but basically the Mamba mentality, and the idea that you always have to work harder than your competition is what thrives me to always improve and pursue higher goals.
