We had the good fortune of connecting with DeMario Andre and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi DeMario, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
Im from a Small town 45 miles south outside of chicago called Kankakee, IL

During my childhood my mother always kept me and my brothers well dressed and put together like we always stayed looking nice from our clothes to our shoes it was 4 of us altogether I’m the third oldest (middle child) .

But my mom worked for the State of Illinois and she would always buy us nice clothes we had been wearing Jordan’s since the 90s lol .. but as I got older I started paying attention more to my appearance and I would always look at magazines and see how models and celebrities would dress and it would peak an interest in my decision making on how I wanted to dress.

So occasionally I would start trying different looks here and there to see how it would turn out whether it was color block , baggy fit , loose fit , etc you name it I tried it lol

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
So my journey started back in 2017 I was approached by a cast member on a Vh1 Reality Show Called Black Ink Crew Chicago ( Donald Brumfield Jr. ) reached out to via social media because it was a jacket I had hand made from scratch that caught his eye. And he basically asked if I could make him a jacket and he told me he was on this show and that he was looking for a stylist to style him , well fast forward he brought me onto Black Ink at the end of season 4 and the rest was history.

And from that point on I jus kept hustling introducing myself and networking with people posting my content on my social media pages until I kept running into the right people. DIVINE CONNECTIONS is what I call it lol but Black Ink was my starting point and from there many doors opened for me to style on many other shows and networks like Bravo , WeTV, Fox5Atlanta, Vh1 , Netflix and Tubi

It wasn’t easy at all and sometimes to be honest it’s still not lol . It’s literally an everyday hustle it’s a constant thing of remaining teachable and opening yourself to learning more.

There has been some challenges when working and trying to break into the fashion industry but for the most part I must say it’s all on who you know and also doing right by people . Everything I have done thus far has been GODLY DIVINE even to me working with Actor Columbus Short things have just came to me or my name was brought up so I say keep your heart right and allow GOD to do the rest.

My brand is called (DReSSE’ B! DE’Mar) spelled French but it’s pronounced “Dressed by DeMar” literally lol but what I want people or the world to know about my brand is that number one that it’s a new journey and it’s building connections and relationships with not just a certain body shape or skin shape but it’s open brand to cultivate DIVERSITY with Fashion Styles and Confidence on those who may not think they have the courage

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
So a weekend fun in the sun and good time hmmmmm first thing first I’m taking them to Rodeo Dr of course you can’t be in Los Angeles and not show them the infamous Rodeo Dr lol and then maybe go through Hollywood hills to see some houses , take them to Mothers Rooftop Bar of course we’re going to Santa Monica Pier and for a good party we’re going to EVERYDAY PEOPLE events it’s always Tons of Fun and Music there.

I’m still learning the city myself so I haven’t discovered all the good good spots and stuff just yet lol

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Yes Absolutely there a few people that I want to say Thank You to that encouraged me during this journey of course First and foremost GOD himself because without him blessing with the skills and abilities it wouldn’t be possible for me to do it .

Secondly my Parents of course for introducing from the beginning when they were the ones buying my clothes as a kid lol because technically they introduced me to certain brands growing up

And also LAW ROACH is one of the ones I’m inspired by when it comes to fashion from his own personal look to how he fashionize his clients
