We had the good fortune of connecting with Demario Mcdow and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Demario, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The authenticity! I make what I love, and I love what I make. Being me is what people love.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I love quite a few genres that I’ve made various sounds in, and have create a sound of my own to captivate my audience and keep them guessing. With sounds from Cyberpunk, Rock, Metal, Hip-hop, Trap, Dark R&B and even Country. I can do it all. I also play drums, so that feeds into a lot of what I do as an artist as well and that’s what also sets me apart from the rest.

Working with various producers and other talented artists, I’ve learned a lot about songwriting and how to do more than what I was used to, and it was tough. Still is, but I’m molding into the artist I’ve been needing to become. Having the right people behind me and/or working me has definitely helped me in my journey and I can’t be more thankful for them and what they’ve done in the process.

The lessons I’ve learned in music is to always be open to ideas, and experiences. Don’t hold in what you feel…SAY it in your music! Tell your story. Say how you feel. A lot of people just flaunt and just say whatever without substance and it’s misleading and telling people to just not “I give a f**k” and keep it pushing. No. That’s not the way to do it. I’ve learned that I’ve been more aware and knowledgeable of how my music affects those around me, and those out in the world who may hear my music as well. And it’s also helped shape me into a better person too. In my personal life, I’ve made mistakes, and I’ve had MANY consequences, so being real with myself and sharing those experiences with others, I’d like the world to hear it and feel it because you never know who needs to hear it, and might be going through the same thing or similar to it.

If there’s one thing I want the world to know is to be unique. Don’t follow what others tell you. Create your own path, your own story. It’s okay to BE in someone else’s story but don’t LIVE for it. We have to be very careful how we move, how we talk, how we live, but we should NEVER conform, and be like everyone else. Do what you love. Even if it’s multiple things. As long as it makes YOU happy.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well this a different type of question I’ve ever had to answer and I LOVE it!!

I have several best buds, so let’s just say if it was a whole group of them just to turn it up a notch. Lol. I’d definitely start with getting them from the airport, and we’d go get sushi! We LOVE sushi! And have some Sapporo beers as well. We’d go to Universal Studios during the day, Barcade at night. Live shows. Take them to the beach, walk on rodeo drive, hit the studio, meet up with some local/mutual friends, and then maybe a bowling alley where things get competitive because all of my buddies are very competitive. I would say watch anime, but most of them aren’t really into it. Lol.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate my shout to Kozze, who’s been my best friend for over 10 years and who gave me the push in my music journey. Helped me develop a new sound and step outside my comfort zone as an artist. Also he’s one of the most talented producer/engineer/artists that I know.
