We had the good fortune of connecting with Dessiree Urbina and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dessiree, how does your business help the community?
The sensory kits that I create are such a great and fun tool for the young and young at heart to engage all their senses while allowing their creativity to flow during open end play. These kits will strengthen muscles in the hands and fingers along with building confidence and an open imagination.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have found in creating these kits I am able to give a learning opportunity through play and sensory. Each kit is thoughtfully put together and made with all natural ingredients by hand and made with love. I believe all children should have access to these adorable kits and in that I have chosen to keep my pricing very reasonable while not sacrificing quality.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Absolutely would hit the beach! Spending the day soaking up the sun and of course a great meal at Gladstone’s. Griffith park observatory would be a fun afternoon and you can’t skip the nice drive up Beachwood canyon to visit the Hollywood sign. I’m thinking a day at Burke Williams would be just what we would need about this time in our visit. Perhaps a nice day trip to Catalina to do a little sightseeing of the island on a golf cart and we may as well get a zip line in.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I couldn’t have been able to do what I do with out the constant support of my family. They are always willing to step in and help any way they can. And a special shout out to my Brookie Bear ! It’s because of her that I began this journey. I am truly Blessed
