We had the good fortune of connecting with Destine’e Donald and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Destine’e, why did you pursue a creative career?
I have chosen to pursue a creative career because it aligns with my passion. I derive immense joy from the creative process, and the prospect of receiving compensation for my work further enhances my motivation.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
The most valuable lesson I have gained on this creative journey is to create art that resonates deeply with my own soul. My artistic endeavors have not always been met with success, and this was largely due to my attempts to emulate the styles of others. However, when I took the time to introspect and identify my own unique preferences, my artwork experienced a remarkable transformation. My creations became more authentic and enjoyable to produce, and I found myself developing a greater appreciation for the creative process. My ultimate goal is to have my brand and artistry convey the playful and joyful essence of life to the world.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oooh, this is a fun question because I live in a small-ish city with not a whole lot to do. But we would definitely have to check out my favorite restaurants, which are Bonsai, Zundo, Mighty Crab, and Rock & Roll Sushi. (Yes, I am a seafood girly. lol) And if the weather is just right, we would have to go out and sit at the reservoir and have a picnic. The rest of the time, we would spend creating, making content, taking cute pictures, watching our favorite tv shows and movies.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My boyfriend, Ryan, has helped push me in every aspect. He has motivated me to step outside my comfort zone and try new ways to express myself through my artwork.

My daughter is also a big inspiration to me because she helps me look at things from a different perspective. She helps me view life from a more childlike perspective and makes life fun and playful.
