We had the good fortune of connecting with Deven Powers and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Deven, what do you attribute your success to?
1st is God 2ndly has to be my work ethic and lastly my knowledge of brand marketing. My success has a lot to do with my ability to work hard and sacrifice personal things inorder to gain longterm success. I try not to keep up with the jones but focus my energy on ways to improve my over all brand

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Well i Go by the name of Deven “Mr Hollywood” Powers and what seperates me from every one else is the challenges i had to over come to make to this point in my life. Im the 10th of 14 kids i grew up dirt poor my father was a pastor and my mother is a legendary Gospel singer. I have to say the life changing lesson in my life thus far is when I had to over come a 10 year prison sentence in which i spent from the age’s of 19-27 behind bars. During my stint their i realize that living a life of crime was not for me. So i decided to change my life by becoming an entrepreneur. In order to do so I began to read book and i even took up self help classes gaining knowledge and several certificates to improve my overall thinking and my overall education. Since then ive grown and learned and made a complete 360 degree turn in my life. so instead doing things that impacted society in a negative way i redirected my life an my intentions to living a positive fullfilled life by helping and inspiring others. Through the challenges of my life it made me the man that i am today. I dedicate my life to those who followed down the wrong path but turned their life around to become a success story. I dont regret being Behind bars because if it wasnt for that challenge in my life i wouldve never discovered my natural God given talents of writing poetry, music & movie scripts. Since then ive accomplished several feats; Im the ceo and founder of the The Mr Hollywood Tv Show airing on Amazon Prime in 2021. Im also the ceo & founder of The Black Film Festival Los Angeles, Discover My Music Radio, Blackcellence Awards, Celebrity Newz Tv, Mr. & Ms.Hollywood Magazine Franchise’s and lead promoter at Bighouse LA Promotions . Im also the Host of The LA Live Film Festival & Film Fest Los Angeles 2018, 2019 2020, & 2021. Ultimately i want to be an inspiration to the world that you can make even with the odds stacked against you for that reason I represent hope.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Thats a good one well for starters 1st id take my bestie to the Dream Hotel in Hollywood and rent a room for a few nights after we settle in id take them to Vinice Beach to view all of the sites. since the Santa Monica strip Is down streey id take them to the pier to grab some food and drinks. Afterwards id take them to the Cheese cake factory to grab some dessert. And to finish the day off id take them to Hollywood Blvd to see the Stars and inbetween time we would go to the playhouse night club in hollywood. ill reserve us a table or two with several beautiful ladies and order bottle services to turn up. After that we would go back to the dream hotel to recover and rest up for our universal studio hollywood trip the next day .. Outside of hollywood in my opinion LA Live has a lot of turn up spots like Shaquilles

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Well I would have to say my mother Alzadia Marie Purifoy and I would also like to shout out my business partner and mentor at BighouseLa Promotions who has taught me so much about the entertainment industry. Each and every year our Festivals LA Live Film Festival ,Film Festival Los Angeles & The Black Film Festival Los Angeles Continues to Grow on a global level. Id love to shout my mother out because she has never given up on me and with her basic biblical teaching of loving your neighbor as you love your self has brought me through so many challenges and valleys along my journey to the top! Without her i wouldnt be the man i am today so mom I Love You & This Shout out is dedicated to you
