We had the good fortune of connecting with Deyanira Martinez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Deyanira, what role has risk played in your life or career?
The greatest risk I faced was leaving a corporate job of over 20 years to venture out on my own, without any certainty of what the future might hold. This decision required immense courage and a leap of faith. In life, you’re seldom fully prepared for the major decisions you make, be it starting a family, purchasing a home, or switching careers. Each of these choices comes with its own set of uncertainties, and it’s essential to be willing to embrace these unknowns

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
As the Co-founder of “Mujeres Que Se Atreven y Superan Límites,” a book series that showcases inspiring stories of women who have overcome challenges, I have had the privilege of working with approximately 150 Latina women from across the globe. These remarkable individuals share their stories and talents to uplift others. Our books have been presented in Europe, Latin America, and the USA, where we have also organized events, workshops, and provided professional visibility to empower fellow Latinas.

Our team offers editorial coaching to authors, guiding them through the publishing and writing process to help them share their unique stories. Additionally, through my company, DeyaMedia, I develop webinars, workshops, and content focused on financial education for Latinos, women’s empowerment, and community betterment.

One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned is the incredible potential people have when given a little encouragement. It’s truly astonishing to witness the transformation women undergo when they are supported by a community that cheers them on. At our core, we believe in the power of providing that ‘little push’ to help individuals shine and become the best versions of themselves.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Living in New York City, I’ve noticed that every visitor is drawn to the allure of Manhattan, a borough renowned for its spectacular sights, museums, and tourist attractions. Marvels like The Edge and The Vessel stand out as extraordinary examples. Walking on glass on the 101st floor is undeniably a one-of-a-kind experience.

One aspect of New York City life that I particularly cherish is its incredible diversity. The array of cultures is vividly reflected in the city’s exceptional gastronomy. From the streets of Manhattan to the far corners of the boroughs, New York offers a unique tapestry of experiences, making it a must-visit destination on everyone’s bucket list.

A must experience: try Dominican , Peruvian or Mexican food. That are tons of restaurant all over the city

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
my business partner Alba Letycia, the women from my community Mujeres que Se atreven y superan limites and financial mentors Mauricio Garcia and Peter Estevez
