Meet Dhruvi Darji | Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dhruvi Darji and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dhruvi, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
“I am what I think of me and I know I am the protagonist of my story and of my life. My energy is magnetic What I desire is already mine. My success is inevitable.”
This particular affirmation uplifts, motivates and pushes me everyday to work on myself and grow as an individual! As an artist and as a creative, I believe in working on myself as an individual, polishing my art with practice, patience and proficiency everyday!
This affirmation reminds me that I can create and learn what I want in this life and that everything and anything that I have ever desired to have and possess in this life is within my reach! This affirmation keeps my mindset fueled and motivated at all times! I say this affirmation out loud everyday, especially during difficult times!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me apart from others is my way of looking at success and where I see myself in the future. Honestly I’m trying to make it past Friday every week. I do things in the present going with what I feel is the best for me in that moment. If something feels good to me I go for it, without overthinking it. Being able to sing in two distinct languages, Hindi and English is something I love about myself. My voice is quite versatile which sets me apart and helps me experiment with multiple genres and blend them with the sonics seamlessly. My songs usually consist of multiple dynamics, harmonies and ad-libs. The mix of all my songs sound coherent creating my own personalized sound and set of vocals.
My most proud moment as an artist would be when I transitioned from a DJ to an Artist who sings, writes and produces her own music! I usually work with Producer/Artist THEFALLN1 on my singles and E.P. as I mentioned before he is someone who I can relate with in terms of sound, my sonic vision and design!
Honestly, like any other individual, I have had times in my life where I felt like giving up everything because of certain events that occurred in my life at the time because of which I developed a low self-esteem and confidence at that time, which led me to rethink every decision I made regarding the career path I chose for myself. But music is something I cannot keep away or distant. Its a part of who I am and who I’ve been! It took a lot in me to keep doing what I am doing today professionally. Music heals me in any and every way. A little secret about me is I love Lo-fi, acoustic and ambient music. Even though I make the opposite of it.
My journey has been quite a roller coaster and I wouldn’t say that it was hard but rather challenging. This challenging time helped me grow as a person and build my character. I just knew that my life has its meaning and I am meant for bigger things in life, so those hardships and challenges were like tiny obstacles in the way which I learnt to overcome in time.
I want the world and all the people that follow me and my brand to know that I am not doing what I am doing for fun or for the people. I am doing this for myself, my mental health, my sanity and for where I see myself in the long run. I am here to make those changes, in the industry, I am here to break the chains and the paradigms in which which music exists. So I am better off speaking less and doing more of it what I aim to do!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to “myself” firstly for never giving up on my dream and making it a point to achieve everything I ever desired, even when life put me in situations where I found myself hitting a dead end. I am proud of the person and the kind of artist I am as I’ve been true to myself always.
Secondly, I want to give a big shoutout to my mum and dad for always being my biggest support system and always having my back throughout. Coming from a strong Indian background and ethnic values, they have always encouraged me to do something out of the box and challenge myself to my fullest. They raise me real well and I am a proud daughter.
Thirdly, I would like to give a huge huge shoutout to all the people who have been my pillar and my backbone in this journey, friends, family and fans included. THE FALLN1, who is my biggest partner, friend and confidant who showed me a different light and made me believe in my own talents was the first one to appreciate me for my voice and finding the artist in me, has been a constant till date. Shoutout to him!
Lastly, the people who deserve a huge shoutout are the people who listen to my music and appreciate it without knowing anything about me or my background! So a big shoutout to my fans, supporters and all the people I haven’t met or seen in person, thank you for being a part of my journey and giving me so much love.
