We had the good fortune of connecting with Diego Kuri and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Diego, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Whenever I think about what I want to do in my life I think of art. I see art as a creative way of expression. I find it therapeutic and cleansing, not only for the creator but for the public as well. One of the greatest joys is knowing you have inspired or sparked something in another one’s life to help them be better. A creative path is one of both giving and receiving. I find that balance to be gratifying.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As we speak, I’m preparing for a role in an amazing Bollywood film about the golden era of soccer in India in the 50’s and 60’s. I can’t give too much information as of now but it’s a production with big names from producers, actors and director. I’m really excited to be a part of this. Been an actor is already a fulfilled dream, but I never thought in a million years it would take me around the world to amazing places like India.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
What an amazing concept, the Shoutout Series. Our success, our whole existence actually, is thanks to other people. It wouldn’t be fair to try to name one person to shoutout, because I believe every single one in my path have had their part in shaping me into the man I am today. That being said I’d like to shoutout God, my family and friends, and the many great teachers whom I had the fortune to learn from, one of them being Joe McCoy, he made me take my craft both seriously and not too serious, and introduced me to the joy of being truthful to who you are with no masks on. I’d like to shout out Mr. Tim Landfield for giving me a second chance. And the people from Validus Productions for giving me the opportunity to play a really fun character for 4 seasons in Life as a Mermaid.
