We had the good fortune of connecting with Dimora Interior and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dimora, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
DIMORA starts from a great friendship that turned into the desire to express ourselves and our vision into our work and to try to make a difference by bringing “what we are” into what we do. As foreigners the connection with someone with the same background is really strong and sharing the same profession made this connection even stronger. The name Dimora itself is used with the goal to identify ourselves as Europeans and specifically Italians, immediately informing the audience about our roots. DIMORA means “home” in italian but in a higher linguistic way, and that’s exactly what we want to do, enhance the interiors of homes to make them unique homes

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Each project brings with it its own sources of inspiration. For example, in one of the latest projects, for the final choice of the shade of blue on a wall of a reading room, we were inspired by the blue of the walls of Ernest Hemingway’s house in Cuba. The inspiration comes from observation and so it can come from leafing through a magazine, a painting or even driving a car. Each space created is a compromise between who we are, with our Italian background, and the needs of the customer who relies on our proposals. Often the job consists in accompanying the client toward the vision or solution that we have developed for them. We can range from simply restyling a space to renovating or creating a project from scratch. We mainly work with private homes and hospitality spaces such as bar and restaurants.

Design can help increase the beauty and functionality of a home, but it can do even more. The restyling of a house is the restyling of ourself, our life, it is a change of our attitudes towards the space and ourself.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

Last stop at THE PERCH rooftop where you’ll have a breathless view of the skyline for a nice and refined dinner experience.
