Meet Dimples Music | Artist, Singer, Songwriter

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dimples Music and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dimples, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?

“You may not touch a gazillion lives, but you can light up your own space.”

-Lauryn Hill

This reminds me to keep doing when I feel is necessary to ensure that I stay on track with my personal goals rather than put in work to please everyone else. What I like about the saying is that it’s straight and to the point.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

I am excited about still loving the art of creating music. Music has afforded me so many opportunities and the chance to meet outstanding people in the industry.

Also, knowing that I can wake up and do the thing that makes me feel most alive is so rewarding!

I got to where where I am present day by continuing to be a student of the craft, being able to take corrective criticism and nurturing the relationships I built along the way have played the biggest part.

My musical journey wasn’t an easy journey, but it was full of life lessons and opportunity. I overcame challenges by developing the “Cross the bridge when you get there” attitude. This mindset allowed me to make mistakes, learn from them and keep pushing.

I was taught to work hard and never give up on anything I truly feel passionate about.

The biggest lesson that sticks with me is – I was told to make it my business to understand the business side of being an artist. I like to make sure I understand the process of what I am getting myself into. Understanding the paperwork and procedure to get certain things done will save you a lot of time and money.

I want people to know that creating a respectable brand isn’t easy but its doable. Staying consistent and keeping in mind the days when you want to give up are the days you have to work the hardest. Understanding it’s ok if things don’t go as planned, you just have to pivot and be creative to see things through.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Since I’m from Vegas/in Vegas definitely taking my friend off the strip to a local spot. My absolute favorite (fine dining) restaurant is Golden Steer Steakhouse! it’a classic Vegas spot that’s always booked and busy but once you get reservation you’re hooked. Personally, I recommend the King Crab legs! For something a little more laidback, I would have to say Big Jerk, it’s a Caribbean restaurant which doubles as a lounge with music and hookah so you kinda get a 2 for 1 experience. Vegas is a 24 hour city so you can go anywhere at any time honestly. Most people who visit Vegas love to hang out on the Strip or Downtown. Being a local we try to stay away from the tourist areas. As for me, I usually go where I know the promoters or the dj when deciding where to hangout. I frequent events thrown by Mario Whitaker of LMG events as his events are really laidback with dope music and are always a good vibe. With that said, he currently has events on Wednesday’s at Candelabra and Saturday’s at Classic Jewel. These are the places I would take my friends visiting my hometown. My boys Dj Money & Dj Kayplaya are very popular Dj’s here in Vegas and wherever they are is where the party is for sure!
