We had the good fortune of connecting with Dinley Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dinley, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I pursued an artistic career because for me, personally, it was the only option. I have a passion for creating and performing on stage . It gives me a feeling that can’t be replicated anywhere else. If I have one person in the audience or one million it wouldn’t make a difference. Self expression give me purpose, and it helps me to better understand myself and the world around me.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I truly love what I do. This has been a difficult journey , and we are still only just beginning. There is still so much more to do, to learn, to share.
I’ve been a singer for nearly my whole
life. I was trained in classical singing. And started dancing from the age of 13. I fell in love with being on stage. As I grew , I started writing, as a way to better understand and control my emotions. Eventually all of these passions came together, allowing me to find my artistic voice. When you do what you love, and people don’t understand, It’s never easy . But with enough time and experience I was able to figure out what impact I wanted to leave , and the message I wanted to send. My music is made to bring people together in a world that is focused on tearing us apart. And if my music can relate to anybody , and put a smile on their face, and make their day just a bit better, then I’ve done my job . The rest of the pieces will fall into place.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I think everywhere has the potential to be fun, exciting, and unique. What matters most are the people you bring with you. I recommend finding people that inspire you, see the best in you, and push you to be better everyday. If you do that, then you will have a good time, no matter where you are or what you’re doing.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are so many people on this journey that have inspired me.
I have so many professional collaborators that have helped me to be where I am today.
