We had the good fortune of connecting with Donald Hsiao and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Donald, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
I’m inspired by everything around me. Everything that walks, talks or moves. I consider myself a people’s person, hence getting to know a person,hearing about their life, about their struggles and achievements is inspirational to me. My source of inspiration is my Mother, she is my world. Just being around her inspires me to “Do Better” and “Be Better”

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Hailing from India and being of Chinese Tibetan ethnicity has enriched me with culture and diversity. With a background in commerce and fashion design, it has bestowed on me with structure, balance, design, and creativity. I took to makeup with a keen interest in its application and benefits, empowering and building self-love and confidence in oneself. Working as a pro artist for a renowned cosmetic brand for 10 years and in being a Beauty Director for numerous fashion shows, editorial shoots, and commercial shoots has given me an insight into what’s current and trending in the beauty industry.   Over the years, I have learned the intricacies and details that go into consulting. And creating a look for a bride has been my specialty, and it brings me utmost joy in having the ability to bring a smile to her face, making that day so special and memorable.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favorite spots in the city to take a friend who’s visiting or going solo and just enjoy me time would be – urth Cafe (coffee shop)

– San juan Capistrano ( mission )
