We had the good fortune of connecting with Donn Stewart and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Donn, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I grew up in a beautiful small city in Mexico, called San Miguel de Allende. My grandfather is a wonderful singer, Luis Octavio Perez better known as Arqui Octavio. I grew up watching him sing with Mariachi Band and actually before being an actor I wanted to be a singer. After graduating from High School I took a leap of faith and traveled to Hollywood without knowing anyone, no job, no manager and no idea of how Hollywood actually was like but I always dreamt of working on the movie industry in Hollywood.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Arriving to Los Angeles was probably one of the most difficult things I’ve done in my life. I got here with no money at all. I was 18 years old and I didn’t have anything but the dream of becoming a successful Mexican Actor in Hollywood. I never gave up and I still work really hard to show everyone that everything is possible.
When I was a kid all of this was just a dream and now is a reality. I’m really grateful for that.
I’ve had the opportunity to work with celebrities like David Beckham, Avril Lavigne, Seth Mcfarlane, Ana de la Reguera between others.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love eating, im obsessed with trying new restaurants all the time. Also I have husky and I love going on hikes and taking pictures. I love photography so if you’re with me probably I will be taking pictures of you all the time.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Of course my family was one of the key factors for my success. Having their support since the beginning of my journey was what kept me going.
