Meet Donna Quach | Medical Army Officer and Psychotherapist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Donna Quach and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Donna, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Empathy and Compassion for others. Volunteering and giving back by helping others with mental health and medical support across the United States and Globally.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I work as a mental health therapist with a private practice in Burbank California for about 15 yrs. I am also a nonprofit owner and dedicated to supporting our veterans and their families with mental health and suicide prevention support.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to the beach, hiking, and trying out new restaurants to eat.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The Women Legionnaires is designed to be a supportive platform for active service women and women veterans of all U.S. Armed Forces (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, Space Force, Coast Guard, and National Guard/Reserves) who are members of the American Legion Palisades Post 283 and special invited guests. It seeks to address the unique challenges faced by women veterans and service women, while also celebrating their achievements and contribution. It is open to other women service members and women veterans in the area who are seeking a space to be heard, especially if they do not currently have a similar platform in their own community and wish to build one. The goal is to facilitate the exchange of ideas, promote mutual understanding, and build a supportive network that transcends traditional boundaries where men, women, and members of the LGBTQIA + community are welcome.
With generous support from the Post leadership and with childcare services available, the Women Legionnaires, once known as the Women’s Forum launched the month of September by hosting their first interactive event. Special guests from the West Los Angeles Veterans Administration, American Legion District 24, and American Legion Department of California were present. The event drew in pioneering women veterans, including a drone pilot, business owners, a fashion designer, military service member showcasing her couture, military-inspired dresses, and other incredible attendees who traveled from as far as two hours away, proving their dedication and grit. The gathering consisted of a fun night of dining, laughter, photos, and then a live poll focusing on topics related to the VA, the American Legion, and the Women Legionnaire. The poll was used as a tool to discuss current needs and services, as well as suggestions for future forum topics.
While the Women Legionnaires is beginning on a smaller scale, we hope it will strengthen the connections within the American Legion Palisades Post 283 community, foster a sense of belonging and camaraderie among all members, regardless of their gender or sexual orientation. It is intended to be a platform for personal and professional growth, while actively contributing to the vibrancy and growth of the American Legionnaire community.
