We had the good fortune of connecting with Dope Stilo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stilo, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
We all have our habits, and we all have our go-to excuses for why we’re stuck in the situation we’re in. I know I have plenty of them. This year, I’ve realized that the habits I’ve developed over the years have been keeping me where I am—which isn’t a bad place to be at all—but they’re also preventing me from going to where I want to be. The biggest one is that I like to do things my own way, and while that’s worked pretty well so far, there are some things that just don’t work with my approach. It’s time for me to build new habits so that I can break free of this cycle and get closer to where I want to be.

When it comes down to it, there are three things that are important: self realization, selflessness, including others, and caring. Selflessness is also important because it means realizing you need help sometimes, which leads us into the second thing: including others. When you include others into your life and ask for their support whenever you need it (and give them your support when they ask for it), you create those interconnections that make people really care about each other. Finally, care is important because if you don’t care you won’t go the extra mile you might need to win.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I create original music in a very positive atmosphere, the sound is unique, and the message is clear. Motivating, fun, inclusive, and deep. An audio biography, a music, journal, a story to keep inspired by and to never give up. I’ve made over 35 albums in English and some in Spanish funny enough this year as I have grown with a community I’ve recorded on the three songs. I’m jumping back in the lab and I’m really excited to record with this new energizing, mindset and experience. I got to where I am today with consistency, love, persistence, and true passion for music. That passion has driven me to go beyond regular lengths to succeed. Some of the lessons I’ve learned along the way are to move with strategy, and not emotion, to work, not faster, but enough shape of formlessness. Don’t overthink, keep it, moving the more you create and complete the more you evolve and learn. The more of a chance you’ll meet new collaborators, the more opportunity to share and speak with Contemplate with and grow from. I want the world to know that the journey isn’t easy and it isn’t short, but with length comes authenticity, and it really reflects in all areas of life, not just your passion, but all facets of success in any area that you would want. It’s not all Kumbaya so move with emotional balance, and financially always have a back up because when those times get low, it really comes in handy, especially as an artist!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my friend was in town, I would take them to the beach up in Malibu or down in Orange County from San Clemente to Ventura county and all my secret surf spots 🙂 with some really dope waves, the best taco spots (el chato), the best views from laguna beach to Topanga canyon, hollywood hikes, dope restaurants like Berris cafe, the reel inn, sloopys in Manhattan beach maybe caveman kitchen and of course a little bit of shopping, from Melrose to downtown LA to the Santa Monica promenade. Love me some ET SURF in Hermosa Beach that’s been there since the 70s, some urban outfitters, Patagonia, Nike store, Apple, store, and Best Buy! Lol definitely go to the grove, watch a movie 🍿 take a stroll through palos verdes one of my favorite Italian spots “the appetizer“ hit up the Orange County fair, the Huntington pier it goes on and on!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There is so many people really to thank I couldn’t just mention one or a few, it just would t do it justice. I’ve been fortunate to have a people in my life who have put me in many positions to win especially coming from where I do. From getting home. Purchasing my first car to my first studio equipment. It’s just been a collective of caring people in this world.
