We had the good fortune of connecting with Douglas Wallace III and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Douglas, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
you know what… for a minute I’ve been struggling with that question. My therapist asked me this and I couldn’t give him an answer so here’s my answer.. acknowledgment. I want people to know I’m here and I can create just like these other artists out here or even better, I wanna be acknowledged that I’m not just flying by the seat of my pants and success is falling in my lap I want to know that I earned the right to be here.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m still perfecting my niche as a videographer but in my photography, i do more dark and B&W hi and lo contrast. the road wasn’t easy it was more trying to make that relationship and getting out of your shell and out of your way I think that was mostly the difficult part, making relationships.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Take them to a nice dinner somewhere maybe The Yard House, or Lazy Dog, I’m not much of a drinker being 2 years sober, so bars are really out, I would also bring them to the MOCA or the Annenberg Museum Of Photography

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
i’d like to shout out my solid team Str8outdatrunk Radio and my friend Nubiiian G for the love and encouragement.
