We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Chad Beauchamp and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dr. Chad, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Starting my business took part due to a cumulation of experiences through my early life. Growing up in rural Northern Michigan, was a challenge on its own. Playing sports and being injured in Northern Michigan was even more of a challenge. I played pretty much every sport growing up and throughout high school. We were your typical Midwest Friday night light town. My main sport was football, where I often never came off the field. This led to many injuries throughout my time in HS. By the time I graduated, I already had 4 surgeries and another 3 to come in later life. At the time, I was unaware of what it took to be physically and mentally prepared to compete at the level I knew I could. We lacked the proper facilities and coaching for weight training, nutrition and sadly rehabilitation.
Going off to college, I somehow survived to be able to play DI football at Central Michigan University. This was very quickly put to a stop my first year due to another surgery. At that time, I knew it was time to create an identity for myself outside of being an athlete. I transitioned to becoming a focused student that still wanted to be around sports and helping people get the education and care that I did not when growing up. I set my eyes on becoming a sports physical therapist.
Following my Sophomore year at Central, I applied to the University of Southern California, which was the number PT school in the country for the last ten years. Even though I was not eligible to be accepted after only 2 years of undergrad, my mind was made up that I would become a Trojan graduate student. In 2008 I graduated with honors from Central and was accepted into the number one PT school in the country.
While at USC, I focused on becoming a sports physical therapist by spending my extra time in the athletic training room with their football team. Through this experience and the many other athletic training rooms I have been in throughout my undergrad years, I realized that I wanted to work in the NFL as a physical therapist. To improve my chances of getting into a very competitive environment, I decided I would go to the University of Cincinnati to work with their football team and complete a sports residency program.
Once again, I loved the environment of working with multiple disciplines such as; medical doctors, chiropractors, acupuncturists, athletic trainers, nutritionist, sports performance coaches and of course physical therapists. Completing my time at Cincinnati I came to the conclusion that my future did not have me in the NFL for many reasons of my own. I realized the need for what these amazing DI programs offered their student athletes was needed for the general public. Following UC, I also completed a 3 years sports fellowship program while working full time. Through the EIM program I focused on sports rehab research and developing new age treatments for the athlete.
In 2012 I moved back to CA where I began my career at a sports PT clinic in Newport Beach. I sharpened my skills as a young therapist over the next 3 years while completing the sports fellowship program. Although I was at the leading sports PT clinic in Southern California, I knew there was more in store for me. In order to do what I wanted to do, I would need to start my own holistic sports clinic.
In 2015, I started REPAIR Sports Institute keeping one thing in mind. Provide new age high quality holistic multidisciplinary rehab to athletes and the general public. With a hop skip jump and many falls, I was on my way to getting RSI off the ground and have been working on the process ever since. I have also spent the last 6 years learning eastern techniques along with plant medicine. My long term goal is to commercials an Eastern-Western approach to sports rehabilitation.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
A light switch seemed to go off the same week I started my company. This light switch was in the form of a spiritual energy healing switch. I have always been what is considered an empath. As a kid I used to play in the fields for hours, with who knows who…From an as early age as I can remember I white boarded in order to manifest my future. These were all natural character traits that I was not taught.
When I started REPAIR in 2015, that light switch went off and reminded me of a kid manifesting and being connected to the energy realm. I immediately started to seek energy healers and teachers. In the summer of 2015, I started to work with a very famous energy healer/worker doctor in Laguna Beach. My first session I went to her and told her that I did not just want her to work on me but I wanted to learn everything she knew. I saw her one time a week for 2 years straight. This then prompted me to learn more about the spiritual energy realm and seek other energy workers.
Before you knew it, I was trained in Reiki, emotional trauma healing, tapping, acupuncture and various plant medicines. I knew this would be a life long practice and learning opportunity. I have been fortunate enough to work with some of the leading people in the field and also travel to some of the most spiritual spots in the world. Last year, I had the experience of a life time going to a spiritual retreat in Costa Rica where I spent 7 days focusing on energy work and taking plant medicine. This process very clearly showed me that I was meant to continue down this path and create REPAIR 2.0, This being the Eastern-Western model I spoke about earlier.
I continue to read practice and travel the world learning everything I can about the spiritual energy worlds that we are all a part of. Past present and future.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This is not easy as Southern California has so many amazing places to visit and experience. For me it is in nature. Whether it is an ocean hike in Laguna, visiting the mountains in Big Bear or seeing the red wood trees in Central and Northern California, they all have a place for me.
Not to mention the amazing restaurants and sporting and music venues. I am a sucker for experiences. Whether that is someone perfecting their craft on stage in a kitchen or if that is mother earth showing me her beauty, I simply love it all!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My parents are for sure my shoutout. My parents both grew up in poverty, small town upper Michigan. I am sure they could’ve never imagined a million years leaving the area. It is just not something people do back then.
They always sacrificed everything for my sister and I. No matter what, they made sure we were taken care of and had big dreams. Anything was possible. I always grew up thinking anything was possible in my life. Whatever it was my parents always fully supported me.
My mom was a big factor in my faith. Growing up strict catholic that often felt over bearing my mom always made sure that I got the lessons from the message that applied to me. She created a safe space for me to live a life through God and always be sure to take care of the ones you love. Many of these lessons from my parents were unspoken. They consistently lead by example and they continue to this day!
I am also very thankful for my sister. She has three amazing kids and is one of the most selfless people I know. Her example of being a career driven mother is something that fuels me every day to do just a little bit more for my employees and patients. After all they deserve it!
