We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Pete Borboa and Micaela Borboa N/A and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Pete Borboa and Micaela Borboa, what role has risk played in your life or career?
The only reason our business exist is due to my partners perception of risk. I was always afraid of taking risk. I was taught to always be a hundred percent prepared before starting something new or accomplishing something new. This created a life of stagnation, never moving forward and always afraid of risk. Meeting my future wife at another dead-end job allowed a possibility of change. The both of us had Ideas of having a business in health, we aspired to work hard, and the goal was to work for ourselves. Before I met Dr. Pete, I always knew that one day I would work my way up. My father would tell me that if I wanted something in life, I had to work for it. Coming from nothing I had nothing to lose. Risk for me, was and is the only option. What better way to succeed than to try. When I met Dr. Pete, I learned he had the same ambition, we both wanted to work toward success. His care, dedication and discipline for his work inspired me.

We fed off each other’s positive energy, and ideas.
Seeing my wife’s fearlessness and unending drive to do better allowed me to embrace imperfection. She inspired me to try and not allow my fears of failure overpower the ideas I had to help people through a Chiropractic business. I was “preparing” for over fifteen years with zero risk and nothing to show for it. My wife’s life taught me that there is nothing to fear in risk, yet everything to gain.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are a small chiropractic clinic located in South Pasadena. We opened a little over two years ago, during the beginnings of the covid pandemic. But us first begin with our how the seed was planted. We both worked in a chiropractic franchise called the joint. It was a fast-paced practice. Doctors there would see about 50 plus patients a day, that is how fast it was. Patients were in and out in less than 5 minutes. This is where we met, and this were we learned about what typed of practice we wanted to have. We wanted to start small, so that we could focus of the quality of care for our patients and not worry about the money. We make our patients feel heard, seen, and know that they were at the right place. We started with a passion of care and understanding that many people go through pain on a daily basis, and most can’t afford good chiropractic care. So, we wanted to build an affordable place for the community. We focus on the care about our patients and not about our ego, so we make sure that if we can’t help them, we send them to someone that can.
We learned that if you place first the, treat people with respect and care for them, the success and prosperity will follow. Most of our new patients are referred to us by their friends and family. We are most proud of that.
We are here to help people feel better, so they can enjoy life, and do what makes them happy.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There is so much to see and do in and around L.A. To start off the week we would suggest breakfast at Cindy’s, a great diner in Eagle Rock. This place has great breakfast, lunch and dinner. For a nice day out the Huntingtin Library has a beautiful garden to see and enjoy. It has a beautiful Japanese garden, Art, waterfalls, and many other beautiful things to see. This place can be visited more than once to really get to enjoy it all. Dinner can be enjoyed at a great restaurant on Colorado Blvd in Pasadena called Anaya’s Restaurant. Here you will taste delicious food and drinks. This place has a great ambiance and great music. For another outing we would encourage another great breakfast place called Marston’s located in Pasadena. This place feels cozy, and the food is delicious. For an evening event we would encourage. booking a play at the Ahmanson Theater, located around the Downtown area of Los Angeles. It is surrounded by great buildings, bronze sculptures, and places to sit and eat. The theater is beautiful, and they always have great plays.
Food in and around this area are always enjoyable, another place to look at is Houston’s on Arroyo Pkwy in Pasadena. This place has amazing steaks, mashed potatoes, veggies and everything else. It’s worth every penny. There is always something to see. There is shopping places that have nice sights like The Americana at Brand located in Glendale. This center has a nice water light show to enjoy while you shop. You can also enjoy a movie in this plaza, or a nice morning coffee.
To finish of the week, we suggest a walk down the Hollywood walk of fame. Enjoying the many museums like the LACMA down Wilshire Blvd, this place has so much to see and enjoy, places to take many pictures. There is also the Getty Museum, this place has a beautiful view of the city. We recommend enjoying a one last brunch at Lady Byrd Cafe located on Echo Park Ave. This place has amazing French toast, and the sitting area is just something you must see for yourself. It is cozy, cute, and enjoyable.
All this and more are what can be enjoy here and around the Los Angeles area.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost, my wife, for giving me the strength and courage to simply try and not be afraid to fail. My father, for loving me and being a living example of never giving up. Seeing him survive Vietnam, and not allowing that experience to take over his life, has always inspired me to be better. My mother for showing me to love and except others without judgement. My family and friends for contributing to the man I am today.

I want to thank my husband Pete, for allowing me to be myself and being there next to me when life got hard. My parents for dedicating their lives to work hard so my siblings and I can succeed in life. To the support my family and friends give me when I need it the most. And to all those who have reminded me to fight for what I want.
