We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Shawne’ Reddic and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Shawne’, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
SBS Restoration Clinic brings awareness to functional medicine also known as alternative medicine that focuses on the root cause and not the symptom. In the holistic realm it is important to understand the benefits of preventative healthcare to disrupt the onset of dysfunction, discomfort, and disease. I use my voice to enhance the knowledge of natural medicine through energy modalities that was practiced by our ancestors. I do believe that less is more so it’s always good to go back to the basics when it comes to our diet, sleep patterns, social life, hydration, and movement. On my social media platforms I showcase different ways to create a balance digestive system and mental clarity.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
As a Black Board Certified Doctor of Natural Medicine, I focus on the digestive system and trapped emotions. In my culture our community has fast food establishments and liquor stores on every corner which leads to the breakdown of the gut, gut health axis and contributes to trapped emotions. I am so grateful that my practice focuses on restoring, repairing, renewing, resetting the digestive system and mental health. I am aware of where disease starts and how it affects the organ systems, therefore I provide awareness, INNERG healing, and supplementation to create homeostasis. I was able to achieve this level of respect in my community through my voice on my social media platforms, speaking events, programs curated, and consistency to show up for my community daily. This journey was challenging at times because of the comparison between Western Medicine and Alternative Medicine. Many individuals are afraid to inform their physicians that they are also being cared for by a Naturopathic Doctor, but I encourage my clients to let them know which allow us both to co-manage their health for proper care and results. I learned to meet my clients where they are mentally and emotionally which has built trust and respect towards their process holistically. SBS Restoration Clinic is a safe place where you can share, learn, and heal from the inside out. My focus is the mind, body, and spirit as a whole where I listen with the intent to learn about their cycle of life in order to find the root cause and not the symptom. The goal is to show them how to naturally reset the body back to homeostasis through alternative medicine and energetic modalities.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well friend let me take you to some of my peaceful energy charging spots here in LA. First day we will take a walk on the beach to ground ourselves and catch up on life through socializing. Then we can grab a bite to eat at Akee Bamboo in Leimert Park and walk down the street to check out Nappily Naturals where we can store up on our herbs, crystals, soaps, healthy drink called Tonic Tea by Botanical Seven. I would introduce her to Zam Zam on Crenshaw to get her essential oils and more good trinkets. We would stop by what we call the Fox Hills mall to shop a little bit or browse around at the many stores in their especially the black owned stores like Maliks Bookstore where she can grab some healing books. Another great location to dine at is Hill Top Cafe for brunch to keep it clean and healthy then we can go up the street to Simply Wholesome where there is so many options of great products, smoothies, shakes, and fresh juices. My gosh… we still rolling because this is what we do pamper day and all. Let’s go get some massages at but first mani and pedi at TT nails on Slauson and Faifax then across the street to Mike’s deli.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to acknowledge my clients who trust my knowledge and gift of natural healing. My clients entrusted their lives in my practice to see the greater vision of how to take their power back when it comes to their health and mental wellness, which means the world to me. The willingness to hear and apply the information is powerful in itself. I commend every client for taking the initiative to start the process of healing and keep going because your progress is your progress!
