We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Tiana Burton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Tiana, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Starting my own business, wasn’t just a career decision- it was deeply personal. I come from a long line of entrepreneurs. As wild as it sounds, I don’t know anyone (especially the men) who worked for anyone else but themselves. So, I watched and studied my grandfathers, my dad, and my uncles as a child. I saw the freedom the late nights and early mornings gave them. But I also witnessed the sacrifice and resilience it demanded.

As I became an adult and ultimately a single mother, that memory became my fuel. I wanted to create a life that my children could see the same spirit of possibility I saw from the patriarch members of my family. I need the flexibility, financial stability, and most of all, a sense of purpose that aligned my motherhood and ambition.

The thought process was equal parts practical and passionate. It was never about chasing some perfect dream, it was about building something real, something lasting- for me and my children. My passion has always been women empowerment and education. My business allows me to feed those needs to help other women live their dream.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oh… the best vacation I’ve ever had was this pass January to Bali. We spent a week in Ubud and a week in Semenyak. It was literally the best of both worlds. Bali provided the most relaxing reset Ive ever had in my life. Bali was the perfect balance of adventure, relaxation, and fun. You should start in Ubud, for the first week, soaking in its peaceful, spiritual vibe. It was all about relaxation and culture there—think morning yoga in the jungle, traditional Balinese massages, exploring temples like Tirta Empul and Goa Gajah, and wandering through the lush rice terraces of Tegallalang. The evenings were spent dining on healthy, local cuisine and enjoying quiet, intimate spots surrounded by nature.

Then comes the switch-up in Seminyak for week two, and the energy definitely picks up. Seminyak brings the party and touristy vibes—trendy beach clubs like Potato Head and FINNS, shopping in stylish boutiques, and vibrant nightlife. You get to unwind by the beach during the day with cocktails in hand, and dance the night away to the sunset. It was the perfect contrast to Ubud, offering all the fun and social energy you needed before heading home. And don’t forget to snag you a tattoo. lol
